I did couple posts ago awesome.
Wow, tempted. At that price I would get it for my 6yr old for xmas. Shame that we pay so much and then it becomes almost worthless
Agreed. At this point I'm seriously rethinking buying any third party toys upon release. Yes, you may get to enjoy them for a while, but you deal with first adopter issues AND plummeting value when a better version shows up.
Personally, I buy toys for the value they have to me, not their market value. I've gotten my $150 worth out of Apollyon. Don't care what the market value on him is now.
He speaks the truth. What you're willing to pay for something is how much it's worth (to you). If you buy something, but complain about the price, saying "That's not worth it," you've just contradicted yourself; you bought it, so you'd rather have the item than the money.
I couldn't agree more. I bought this guy when he first came out, had him in storage and before the official MP Megs came out I opened Apollyon. His orange plug just slid off and he now stands so imposing on my self. Such an awesome figure!!!!! Really not liking the whole cartoon accuracy, since they would have to redo Prime, Soundwave, Starscream, and so on....not to mention I am not into the design aesthetics. To me he was well worth the price, not to mention the below video popped in my mind while writing this.
That is some great work there.
Damn I wish I had those skills! Without, you know, taking the time and effort to develop them. Just become an expert overnight with zero effort is what I'm really going for.
Lol, if only...
Did anyone else notice BBTS is taking pre-orders for a new shipment to arrive this month? I didn't notice until today
Bonus, if mine breaks maybe they'll send me new parts again!! Woo!!
Also, I've totally had $150 worth of fun with Apollyon. I still can't pull the trigger on MP36. Now if they'd just get around to releasing Abaddon already...!
At the risk of bumping an old thread, I just bought an Apollyon from a member here, who had bought it from yet another member. It'll be my first true gun-mode Megatron, aside from the Nerf-gun Classics model. He really looks great.
Looking forward to getting him in a day or two. Lots of good info in this thread.
Congrats!! You'll have fun with him, and maybe frustration with him, but mostly fun
Just got him, he's awesome! And I'm not just saying that because he's standing on my desk scowling fiercely.
As usual, I'll be going over his design and making small improvements to articulation and joint stiffness where needed. I noticed something about his gun mode stock that I hadn't seen discussed before: on the small rectangular block, the plain one without the turret mode handles, there is a small rectangular panel that slides out. There is nothing behind it, just a flat wall, see the attachment. EDIT- finally read the instructions, and there it is. Disregard.
I may actually remove the extra gun kibble on his legs, since I don't think he'll ever be a gun, just a demonic warlord, large and in-charge.
I'm hoping for an update on those sweet feet parts another member posted many pages ago...
I bought my Apollyon second hand off eBay. He's got issues but I love it. He's the only one for sale that gives me that G1 toy vibe and he looks awesome next to MP-10.
Those are okay, if refined a bit further I'd consider. What I'd really like however, are inner leg covers for him. There are pre-existing holes someone could use to tab in, would love it if a shapeways guru produced some!

Hmm, I like those feet! Its a good start for some custom new feet! I hope these continue to be tweaked further! I would seriously be interested in a set once they are refined a bit more.
That would make him the perfect MP Megatron for me.
I think i'm gonna keep reposting your comment a few times and hope one of the people who design shapeways parts pick up on it
I wonder if we confirmed enough people would buy one, maybe @jream could make something...
