Thanks for the replies above. I really like the look of this figure so will probably pick him up, my first XTB purchase. Still on the fence about their Windcharger/Tailgate, can't quite bring myself to pull the trigger with all the other wonderful figures coming out soon (by this hobby's standards).

 

Their Beachcomber is fun! I can't say that I recommend their Boost/Hatch though... they're "ok" and if you found a crazy deal and just wanted to display them, then go for it, otherwise just wait and see.

 

Is the G2 coloured version still happening @ibot ?

 

This guy seems insanely overpriced for a "mini" minibot. Not that he's not MP sized… but he certainly doesn't have the heft/girth of Gears or Brawny.And that's at the same (or sometimes BETTER) price point. I really do like him… I just can't justify him.  

 

I have all three bots you mentioned. I find him a better value than Gears. He doesn't feel nearly as cheap as Gears in-hand. You can get him for cheap on eBay during a flash sale I bet.

 

I got (Bad Cube's) Gears for $50. But I get what you are saying.
I may eventually grab him. He's a good few spots down on my priority list tho.
My repaint (custom, obviously) of my iGear's Duneraker will have to suffice a bit longer.

 

This is one that will always be number three or four on my list. I want him but it always seems like there's something else I want more. Maybe someday.

 

What's "worth it" price wise is subjective of course, but I will say that my Arkose was worth the money and then some. Was actually surprised how much I liked him once I got him out of the box. Good accessories too.

 

All I want is my Electrum Beachcomber with Woodland creatures so I can reinact that scene from the Golden Lagoon Episode.

Also want to get a tiny tiedye shirt, and a bong for him.

 

The thing I fear about getting Arkose is the moment I buy it and Fanstoys or Maketoys or someone announces a new Beachcomber  

 

Best they can hope to do is as well as Arkose, aesthetically anyway.

 

Neither of those will make one that looks as good as this does. This nails MP Beachcomber. It's a must if you're a fan of the character imo.

He looks fantastic in both modes (other than the blue-lips-on-blue-face being almost invisible in most lighting), but transforms awful.  

But yeah, he nails the look.

How can someone tell the difference between versions 1 and 2?

Yeah, highly possible.

 

I'm curious as I use Taobao but I haven't bot something as small as a MP scale minibot. Will the cost savings be worth it or will you combine it with other items?
