Face does look like it's lost a lot of depth. Maybe it's just shadowing or the fact that it's all off-white grey and not painted.

 

Yeeeeeah, maybe I'll design and 3d print a replacement face. Make it look like the sexy face from that comic panel I posted earlier  

 

That face looks like it got Eligos syndrome. Meaning XTB got lazy or went into fuck it mode when the figure was released. I'd be weary and would probably wait for a retail review

XTB seriously can be Jekyll and Hyde with QC for different figures.

 

Maybe the paint on the face is just too thick... I think I've seen people remove face paint to show off some detail and then put a thin layer back on, if necessary. May also just have been a bad sample. Who knows.

 

Looks good for what it is, but people still find excuses to complain about...

That's a huge leap connecting a face in a few photos to overall qc lol

Alot of ppl weren't enamoured with Crack Up's face either.

 

Could it be that the figure includes more than one face?
Cause this screenshot seems very clear that it's not a render and the face is totally different...or from a test shot maybe?

 

I consider QC an overall refined product. If your previous photos pre-release show a figure with a face that you would think is painted and has detail, it should be part of the finished product. It lost quality at the end.

 

And wouldn't you need the finished product in hand to determine the overall quality? I've lost count of the amount of figures ppl bitch about face wise, from early shots, that are fine in hand and on the shelf.

The latest in that long line being Steamroll and Crack Up.

That being said a weak face doesn't affect overall quality otherwise Fanstoys would be fucked.

One could say that's a flawed opinion basing it off a handful of pics of one pre released figure from one person and connecting to overall quality of an entire release.

My point being you might wanna hold off the pitchforks till it's out and we've got a wider range of in hand views instead of immediately making that leap. Or not and make your mind up off of that one photo shoot. Either or.

And no, that face doesn't look perfect. I agree there, I'm just not gonna jump to other conclusions because of it. Ppl need to relax more.

How difficult can it be to tampo a line for the lips ala mp-36?

 

Looks to me like there's too much paint. Might be easier to just strip it and see how it looks as bare plastic. I'm not overly worried though, they have history of correcting these things, it'll probably come with Dead End and a whole other round of complaints will start lol
