3 Products in a row that quality has been good. It may follow, or it might not. Never hurts to wait and see.
I think this will be good. Xtb has really turned over a new leaf and make good products now. I'm excited to see more and to see what her alt mode looks like.
Not feeling this Elita-1 at all, sorry X-Trans. Perhaps when the "FINAL" version is made I might change my mind but... Not right now. She's just got too much Kibble for my liking there. and she's got almost no resemblance to her Animation model. the only thing I'd keep is the Head. the rest needs to be Redone. If FansToys can get rid of and hide all that Car, You guys should be able to do the very same thing with her.
Hmmm. At first I was over the moon that we're even talking about Elita-1, but on first sight she reminds me of Azalea... is this a partly IDW inspired look or something? Doesn't seem 100% G1 to me. Well either way, at least it gets the ball rolling on the fembots. Fricking finally.
It is, but it kinda gives off a samurai armor look. Now, someone make an Orion Pax, Ariel and Dion. That's what a lifetime of smoking'll get ya.
I'd recommend doing yourself a favour and not just ruling out KFC/XTB sight unseen. It was a big thing among some a year or two ago to declare that XTB was the worst company ever and howl "never again!!" into the night sky, but they've come a long way and are often ranked in the top two or three MP companies now (and that list includes Takara for many). Their Cosmos is simply amazing, one of the most solid and delightful figure I've ever held. Cliffjumper is also great and reports are that their Stunticons are coming out wonderful. Skids looks amazing, their Trailbreaker was met with great enthusiasm and their Hoist is the only one that actually looks like Hoist, and is also extremely solid. Their Scourge is generally considered excellent and the V2 of Wheelie was leaps and bounds ahead of V1. Beachcomber is a very solid little bot. Their unpainted Blaster is spot on and their Junkions are great. Honestly, at this point their successes far outweigh their failures. Plenty of folks give them grief for their old stuff and some folks got angry at them for redoing Blaster and Wheelie, but for me the fact that they recognised there was a problem with those and listened to the fans to try again says a whole lot. (It's really no different to Badcube redoing Huffer or FT/PF redoing Slag.) Looking at your list, a lot of those are either fine by most people standards or have been replaced by improved versions. {shrug} This Elita does still look like it needs some work, but I'll be right in on their Skids. Their Springer, and Seaspray will be mine and I desperately hope they eventually release that Inferno of theirs. I can't wait to expand my Junkion collection with their new characters... and oh MY GOD, they've shown a prototype of Autobot X who looks glorious!!!! "Keith" is no longer a dirty word for most of us on these forums and it would be a shame if you let their past performance prevent you from experiecing some great figures, but given the list you posted and your apparent opinion of those particular figures, I guess their stuff may just not be to your liking. Which is of course, cool. These day's theirs alternatives to almost everything and it's all but guaranteed Elita will be the same.
I also got a sense of IDW Elita from this prototype, so we’ll see if that remains in the sculpt. But, she’s not 100% IDW, either, ‘cause she’s got two horns, for starters! Then again, I didn’t totally like IDW Elita, so I dig that this is taking a bit of both.
I here ya man, she's got a little bit of kibble, but she's a hell of a tough order. I'm no designer (not even close), but Megatron has got to be cakewalk compared to this. At least he's got the right shapes they just have to get to the right places. Here your taking a slender female form and getting rid of a car alt mode. Same with Arcee true, but at least she has that backpack to work with some of it. BTW thanks for posting picks of the alt mode, I couldn't remember what it looked like, but on top of all this her head is suppose to land in the middle of the roof. Damn, after this the designer will probably be like "couldn't we just do topspin and twintwist".
I have FT Rouge, and plan to get an MMC Paradron, which leaves Elita-1, Moonracer, Firestar, Beta, Chromia, Greenlight, Lancer and a Nightbird and Nancy hopefully.
Maybe MMC does a nightbird too, you know, repaint style of Arcee. I mean they do alot of repaint, so it is possible. I probably should wait for it, but, i thought i would go team pink this time for Masterpiece. FT i dont think so will do repaint nightbird, maybe paradron if there is enough demand. Or maybe another company would make a none transforming one, toon accurate. FT could conceivably do Elita 1 as well, but not sure. As for the rest of the team, really, what Ibot said is the only hope i see until others feel maybe there is a market for it. But seing complaints already about XTB Elita 1 not being toon accurate when from that 1 episode, they barely even had an alt mode, and then will there be enough interest in the rest of the team, is making it not super inticing i guess, but i do hope for the G1 team femmebot.
I have FT Rouge, and plan to get MMC Paradon, which leaves Elita-1, Moonracer, Firestar, Chromia and the rest. Maybe these are all 598's next projects while KFC takes over the other stuff and maybe a combiner. Would be a good change. I always get so frustrated when I see a prototype like this and everyone starts jumping on it like its a finished product. These fembots are going to be difficult as hell to design. Their design is essentially immutable, spindly arms and legs for show that break apart and have to house the wheels with the feminine body forced to pull apart and hide some mess of a collapsed panely backpack on the back. If you look at the fembot's alt modes they get more boxy and enclosed than Arcee's and are completely unrealistic by any standard of physics. People will hate it but I think some should be partly partsforming to get a 100% accurate bot and a workable alt mode with a shell. This is the same Toro argument but even worse. We are bumping up against physics here and its unavoidable. These were not created with physics in mind
I'm interested, but that back kibble/shirt leaves a lot to be desired. Hopefully it can fold up in the future, or even pop off, and non-canon, but act as a shield instead?
