Hopefully it will Bomb, also expect if the rest of the marvel movies done by marvel doing well, Disney will try to buy back the rights.
The only X-Men film I truely liked was X3 (I'm completely serious) because it actually felt like it was trying to be a f**king comicbook movie. It didn't take itself overly seriously, like in X1 and 2, and it didn't make idiotic decisions or story changes, like in Wolverine. This though, doesn't look good at all. I mean for some reason Frost looks terrible to me. It's like the actress is trying way to hard to look menacingly sexy and she just comes off as looking stupid. That and Beast looks like a blue vampire.
Bryan Singer did try to cast Taylor Lautner(Twilight Film Series) to be in "First Class" but Lautner couldn't cause of other film commitments.
I wonder if Disney has the Tv rights, because if they do, they should do the real first class as a tv show.
...what? Idiotic decisions & story/character changes were at the heart of why so many fans disliked X3. I mean, you're of course entitled to your opinion of any movie, but that particular reasoning's, well, puzzling. And since you brought it up (and this isn't meant as a direct jab at you) but I just will never see how or why movies based on comic books are supposed to feel like it's a "comic book movie." For the most part, comic books don't try to feel like comic books, that's just the limits of the medium they're in. Often, they're trying to convey as serious or realistic an environment as possible. I'm not saying this means all comic-based movies need to be serious and stoic, just that they should be held to the same parameters & tone of their source materials. THAT said, the fact that this movie takes place during the 1960s is really the only thing keeping my interest in seeing it at all. Tom Rothman's still running the show, and I still have a hard time accepting any "First Class" that doesn't include the First X-Man.
Wow I am really not feeling this movie...This doesn't even look like a X-men film. [EDIT] Ah, I didn't see the group shot of them in costume. That kinda looks like an X-men film...Still not really digging it. Then it's perfect.
good gracious this smells of ass. what the hell are they thinking making this thing? i think it would be better to just wait a couple years and just re-boot the x-men franchise and actually do it right kinda like with the hulk.
cause if FOX didn't do something with the X-Men Franchise/Rights soon they would have lost it completely back to Marvel/Disney just the same way Sony would have lost Spidey back to Marvel/Disney if they didn't do something soon as well. it's also why FOX is Rebooting Daredevil & Fantastic 4 as well.
Sorry if I confused you, let me try to explain it a bit more. Yes, X3 changed stuff around, but IMO it kinda worked. Professor X being destroyed by Phoenix was a shock, having the X-Men have to fend for themselves afterwards was as well. Though yes, there are things I really don't like, such as Cyclops' cheap out in the first 15 minutes of the movie and Angel barely being in the film after being hyped up in all the trailers and commercials. Wolverine though, made unneccessary changes to an origin that could have worked fine as is. Victor Creed being Logan's father, Deadpool being turned into a baraka rip-off that couldn't talk, thus completely negating his core trait of not shutting up, the memory-erasing bullet.....just, none of it was needed.
Victor was actually his half brother in the movie. Thomas Logan just looks a lot like Sabertooth (or Liev Schreiber). Regarding FC.....yeah not feeling the costumes or effects at all, the pic of them in the 60s non mutated looks good but yeeshhh all the ones with the heavy make up look bad.
Is anyone else a little worried that they're still filming this and it comes June 3rd? My excitement for this isn't that great to begin with and now it will probably end up being a rush job in post production to make a deadline. I'm not getting my hopes up too high for this one. http://herocomplex.latimes.com/2011...hotos-and-a-report-from-the-stressed-out-set/ A big brand name might equal decent box office to begin with but it doesn't guarantee a good movie!
Honestly, I'm expecting a terrible movie. It just doesn't seem like they learned from their mistakes.
