He was asked to do the cameo's, especially early on. It was Fiege who wanted him in every movie they did and that rubbed off. As his health deteriorated, both studios and every film would work together so that Stan would come out once, then do all the cameos for every project in that week to two week period. That way, they minimized his travel (usually once a year) and the stress on him and the casts got a chance to meet him and he'd get the star treatment for his stay.
The only X-Men films to feature Stan was X-Men 1, X-Men 3, Deadpool and Apocalypse, there was a picture of him in DP2, but he wasnt physically there
X-Men: Famke Janssen Hopes Dark Phoenix Can Fix Mistakes of The Last Stand "I’m glad that the Dark Phoenix saga is finally getting its due," Janssen said in an interview with Inverse. "When we tackled it in The Last Stand, it wasn’t given enough time. I remember hearing from fans after we finished the film that they were disappointed that an enormous moment in the comics was given so little screen time. I’m happy for them to give Phoenix the due that she deserves."
Dark Phoenix May Have $200 Million Production Budget Due to Reshoots If a recent report from Observer is to be believed, the film now has a production budget in the range of $200 million. Originally, the film was set to release in November of this past year. However, the movie was delayed to February 14 for reshoots following early test screenings. Dark Phoenix then received a second delay, being pushed back to June, with the also delayed Alita: Battle Angel taking the February slot. Dark Phoenix's reshoots are said to have reworked the film's third act. Rumor has it that Dark Phoenix and the upcoming horror-oriented New Mutants will be the last two movies in the X-Men franchise that Fox makes.
Yup, looks that way... GAMBIT, DOCTOR DOOM And The Rest Of Fox's Planned Marvel Projects Have Reportedly Been Scrapped Thank christ.
I kinda figured at this point. Fox definitely wasn’t going to take a chance on a new F4 film and Gambit has been in development hell for ten years.
Rumor has it that Dark Phoenix may be Fant4stic level of bad. As least based on early screenings. Not sure if those were before or after reshoots.
Storm Has New Powers in Dark Phoenix Shipp told fans at ACE Comic Con, as reported by Comic Book, that fans can expect more from her character in Dark Phoenix. "Lots of new powers, lots and lots of new powers," Shipp said. "It's pretty cool. Obviously not new to Storm, but new to us as an audience, visually. She really does mess some people up. It's pretty cool." More than just creating the odd storm or making it rain, Storm's comic book powers include cosmic storms, solar wind, electromagnetic fields and the ability to control ocean currents. That does sound cool. I hope the budget rise is accommodating this.
Man I honestly can’t care about this. Disney will own Fox by the time this comes out, and Marvel will already have started working on the MCU version of the X-Men. And personally, outside of Deadpool l stopped caring for these movies after Logan, and I think the same goes for a lot of people. I think the movie should be released because a lot of hard work went into it, but it’s pretty much irrelevant at this point.
I keep forgetting this is still coming out. That said, I look forward to this a lot more than whatever Marvel Studios will do with the characters.
How many X-Men comics got involved in the whole Phoenix Saga? Cramping all of that in a single movie is sure a pain the head. Fox can't even make it "cosmic level" Phoenix of a plot like in the comics. Heck it'll require a lot of actors to portray as the Star Jammers and Shi'ar Empire. Even if the X-Men gets an MCU treatment, I doubt Kevin Feige will produce a 3-parter MCU X-Men covering the whole Phoenix Saga right away. It'll be like, "Phoenix Saga" again?
