IF they're intending on doing another X-Men, I really hope someone takes a different approach to it. X3 really was not that good. I can only hope that X4 would be much better. Question is, if there's a Wolverine movie and Magneto coming, would McKellan and/or Jackman appear in X4?

The only point in introducing Gambit would be to have him replace the Logan character in the x men films. Gambit always was the poor mans wolverine, anyhow. I think this is a good indication that they'll be moving Wolverine to his own franchise, and continuing XMen without him.

    But the question is....

    *pauses for dramatic effect*

    CAN X-MEN CONTINUE WITHOUT WOLVERINE?!?!?!?

(I think it can, fans know it can, but will studio execs? That be the kicker)

IIRC, the actors who played the main characters were contracted for 3 movies... they may want more money for a 4th.

Well, actually, I don't know that it can. Remember, the hardcore fans actually know the other characters in the series, and each Xfan will have his or her own favourite that they will want to see. There is, however, no question that Hugh Jackman as Wolverine became the main draw for non comic book fans, which is most of the general population. If you remove Jackman, then you probably remove Magneto, and proffessor X as we know him in the films, is gone. So suddenly you have a franchise continuing on with basically none of its big stars, including the biggest. hell, even Halle Berry coming back would be a good thing for an X film with no Wolverine and no Magneto.

What are they going to do, have an XMen team that consists of Beast, Iceman, Shadow cat and Colossus, with gambit as the new "Wolverine" character? Even Jean Grey and Cyclops are gone.

Personally, I really think X3 was a fitting end to the franchise. it ends Wolverines character arc perfectly, with him going from angry loner to wise teacher/ protector. There's really no reason to tarnish the X franchise anymore than the loopy third installment already did.

You know what's funny? Apocalypse is the Greek translation of the English word Revelation. But they use it like it means something about death, destruction, and the end of worlds.

I think they should just scrap the current series and start over from scratch and do it right this time (in other words, no Wolverine until at least the second or third film).

I liked the first 2 Bryan Singer X-Men movies well enough, but 3 was awful.

I want the 5 original X-Men in their original black and yellow X-Men team costumes (not the costumes they had from issue #94 on and not the leather S&M outfits from the movies). The Spider-Man movies have shown us that brightly colored costumes will work on screen.

I actually think X-Men would work better as a television series, like Buffy or Angel. There are so many characters to choose from that it would be a great ensemble show.
