    okay, I was happy as a clam when we got bumblebee and cliffjumper in classics. back before I knew 1.0 would end, I held on to the hope that we'd get cosmos. well, then that never happened, and he migrated over to titanium...... which.... again was canned. Here it is 2008, we're on the verge of getting 2.0, a continuation of the first line, and who do we finally get in wave 1?!?! POWERGLIDE!!!!

    Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that the minibots are finally getting some attention, especially some of the ones that haven't been heard from in a while (I don't count the legends "fireflight"), but why did they skip Cosmos THIS time?! Logically, he should've been next. Anyone know anything here? What's his status?

    I believe he was canned because of the cost of making him. Dont ask me why.

    Cosmos was a titanium, So was Arcee, Shockwave and Jazz.

    They are not designed for classics.

    classics first, sorry, I was at botcon 2006 myself and looked at the screen (I was the dork in the grey shirt and the yellow/blue-firey du-rag)

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cosmos_(Transformers)

    Transformers: Classics

    Designs were showed at Botcon 2006 of a Cosmos for the Classics toyline, but they were ultimately shelved, with Classics originally being a filler line to bridge the space between Transformers: Cybertron and the movie; however, with Hasbro's announcement that Classics would be revived (as Classics 2.0 and marketed under the Transformers: Universe moniker), there is still hope that the concept will come to fruition.

    [edit] Toys

    * Generation 1 Cosmos (1985)

    A Mini-Bot, he was later redecoed into ehobby Pathfinder.

    * Classics Cosmos (unreleased)

    Concept sketches of Transformers: Classics Cosmos appeared at BotCon 2006 . This Cosmos was a Deluxe sized figure who turned into a flying saucer.

    again, Cosmos was indeed designed for classics, that is true, the only reason they considered him for titanium at the time was because classics at that time was ending, and they still wanted to release him. however, not long after that, titaniums were canned too.

    But they actually went as far to design a titaniums toy. I doubt they are going to make the effort to re-make an existing design with a prototype for classics.

    Especially since they want classics to be the 'realistic vehicle' continuation while Animated is out and until TF2 movie. Shockwave, cosmos and Arcee don't fit that.

    While the prototype was made with the Titanium line, it wouldn't have been that hard to make it work for the Classics line, as it didn't get to the mold making step. As for why Cosmos isn't being made, yet, in the Universe line, is becuase they are currently going after realistic alt-modes, and a flying disk really isn't "realistic". Hopefully they concider him in the future of the line (hopefully the other unused designs too).

    I would like nothing more to see some of the titaniums re-released as plastics in classics. I think Scourge was awesome and would make a great plastic toy in classics.

    I agree 100%. I always thought some of the titaniums would have been great in plastic (Scourge especially).

    Someone in Hasbro said they thought it would be hard to market a green disk to kids, and considering how dated the flying saucer UFO archetype is these days, I'd have to agree with that sentiment. Still with all the other size classes we're getting later on in the new Universe line, it would be nice if there would be room to make some all-plastic versions of the canceled Titaniums.

    Me too, and I could go for a Shockwave and a Arcee too. War Within stuff...not so much, but I'd still get it. I DO have Titanium Starscream.

    I really don't care if Cosmos is in Classics or not...

    ...however, maybe, just maybe, he'll be in Animated! Dude, I hope so. Animated Cosmos would rock.

    I also manage the info that Cosmos original design was going to be released for Classics, but then it ended as a Titanium, and you know the rest of the story.

    And Cosmos for Classics? :yuck

    Why the hell are they pushing "realistic alt modes" onto Classics? That's what limited the Alternators line so much (along with the scale dealie).
