I just heard on the news that companies are starting to ask interview candidates for the facebook passwords.

what the hell kind of world are we letting ourselves live in? Why does my job need to know if I like transformers or who my last girlfriend was, or what I said to a buddy on a friday night after drinkin some beer? Why do they need to know if Im a medical mj patient or not?

I never had facebook until a couple years ago, but I had some open statements on there about this thing or the next. I wasn't at work so ... wtf do they need to see people's private life for?

This was already brought up, and its really got me wondering about legality of even asking of that (as even if laws have changed in regards to what can be asked at interviews, it's pretty much identity theft), and even if giving out your password would (or at least should) be against facebook's policy.

 

I already had the military control my private life, no company will ever have that over me again.
