The newest Giant Bomb podcast had on one of the EMG guys. I forget his name but it sounds like he hadn't been there very long.
70s. Only two Godzilla movies existed in the 80s, neither had Mechagodzilla, and neither Goji in those films looked like that. I have to admit, I've never downloaded anything but the mp3 included in every thread's post. But that's because I kept missing that a) the RSS feed links to the m4a; 2) there was actually an m4a there anyway; and iiii) the m4a has pics! I will remedy this with a second listening/watching of this episode and others in the future. What is a /toy/ soldier? I assume it's a 4chan thing, but I don't understand the concept beyond that.
In regards to the whacked out Legends Starscream instructions I talked about this ep, I looked at the back of a box yesterday at a Walmart, and noticed the instructions were noticeably different from what I remembered. They actually were shown as forward-swept in jet mode (even though they showed them folded down in bot mode). So I thought I was going crazy. But I looked again today, and the instructions showed rear-swept wings again. So there are at least two different packaging variants out there, but both have the transformation wrong.
alright whoever makes a WTF@TFW signature linking to this section of the forum gets a shout out on the next podcast. You have to keep it until next thursday
I'm also a Godzilla fan and that ornament of the old school Godzilla holding Mechagodzilla's head is priceless.
Just so you podcastians know, I always set my Ipod to full screen with continuous back light so I may see all the pic goodness.
Love the photos in the podcast guys! Now where can I get this animated bundle pack? Amazon.com has season 1/TF & Roll Out bundle for only $25. Then $18 for season 2. I may go that route.
That's the thing - my quota for catering to giant evil corporations has already been met, so I can't squeeze room on my computer for iTunes. Kidding, obv. I just really, really don't want to bother with iTunes.
Macguffin . . . Hey guys, first, I just started listening to the podcasts, and I am really enjoying them. They're especially nice while I'm fighting traffic going to and from work. I've only listened to the last 2 epsidoes (I'm working my way backwards) and in each episode, someone has used the term "macguffin" incorrectly. In episode 24, I believe it was used at a literary cheat to explain Sari's height in Season 3 (maybe they'll macguffin it), and in episode 25, it was used as a deus ex machina (maybe Ransack will be the macguffin and save the day - or something like that). Anyhow, neither of those are macguffins. A macguffin is an object in a story or movie that all the characters are after, but isn't really important to the audience. In the 2007 movie, the All Spark Cube was the macguffin, in Raiders of the Lost Ark, it was the Ark of the Covenant. Just wanted to point that out. Keep up the good work! -Silvershot
Yeah, I'm still trying to place the voices with the names, though Buzz, yours is pretty distinct and I know it wasn't you. After I listen to a few more podcasts, they'll be a lot more familiar to me. Though I guess I could be -not- lazy and cue up the podcasts and see who said what . . . nah, today's a lazy day. -Silvershot Oh, and Buzz, that bar you mentioned in the mall near the Botcon venue . . it's called the Yard House and it sports over 250 beers on tap.
I blame David Kaye and Vangelus! They used deus ex machina as a verb first and since then it just seems funny to me to misuse literary terms.
