Try unsubscribing then resubscribing to the podcast, then it should start to download. That's what worked for me.

Do you guys suppose that maybe the reason people are clamoring for Botcon to be in Ohio is not because of location but price? It's a pretty expensive rate, especially since Botcon can run a little long, so like for instance for Seth, to come in on Wednesday and leave Sunday it's over $500 for a hotel room. That's a lot of money. And that's purely hotel, that's not admission cost to the con, that's not meals included, that's not plane tickets/gas money/misc travel expenses, it's not including any additional purchases such as souvenirs and the like.

I personally would LOVE to have it in Ohio, cause that's where I'm at now, but I was expecting to travel some distance to go to Botcon this year. My thing is, it's not practical for me to go now, just on prices alone. The convention packages are usually around $300-$400 for non-club members, which I am. I could get the cheapest thing but then I miss out on the exclusives and what not which would be really awesome to have in my collection. Disney an awfully awfully expensive place to go for a con. Not to say that this one won't be awesome, but I was really hoping for a nice affordable place. I don't want to say I'm not going to go, but I don't expect to cause I just can't afford it. It really sucks, because that was one of my big things for this year. I was really hoping to be able to treat myself to go to Botcon in 2010, but it doesn't seem like a practical goal now. I'm not counting myself out yet, because who knows, I might have a windfall and be able to go, but I'm not going to commit myself to either yes absolutely I'm going to go or no absolutely I'm not going to go.

^ hotel prices for Botcon are usually the same anyway, and it's not like people pay for a room by themselves, they usually split it between several people.

So prices were about that much this year too? I don't remember what they were but that's a lot for a hotel room for several nights anywhere.

The hotel price is right in line with the price from last year, and the year before, and the year before. It isn't as if you get a 2 bed room and stay in it yourself. Most of the time there are 3-5 people per room. That drasticaly cuts your hotel cost to a reasonable place.

So basically, if you get a room with 5 people in it from Wed-Sun nights, it's basically just the same as each person paying for one of the days? Good to know.

I think the days of affordable Botcon trips by one's lonesome are far behind us, at this point. The event has gotten big enough for cheap rooms in the connected hotel to be a novelty at best, if they happen again.

I hear you, but we're not spring chickens anymore. 19-year-olds can pack themselves into hotel rooms like cordwood and it would come out to maybe $40 apiece.

Which really sucks honestly. Out of my small group of friends I'm the lone con goer and Transformers/Anime fan. I've gotten quite accustomed to operating on a loner basis most of the time due to scheduling not matching up. I'm not sure how I, or anyone else would feel about rooming with a person you don't really know.

The two shows I have been to I shared a room with 3 other people. First time I never meet any of them before, second time I had meet two of them before but only a the first show. All of them where from these here boards and where people I my never had been face to face with but where people I had come to know and feel where friends and ended up having a super-duper time.

Yeah, you're almost always gonna have to room with semi-strangers in order to no longer be strangers with 'em. ;)

Everyone I roomied with at various conventions this year, I barely knew outside of the web. Granted I had a shiv under my pillow the entire time in case they were secretly working for The Man.

I do see your point. I'm not as active on the web as I could be, and really I don't know many people on these boards or others. I probably should be more active just because there's no one to really talk Transformers with, outside the internet for me.
