Only about 20 minutes in so I don't know if you mention it later, but didn't he cock his finger when Starscream shouted,"You stand down", and fired his missle at the autobots.

Goddammit. I really should have saved the various stoned Arcee pics they drew on 4chan.

In lieu of stoned Arcee, have some Stonercons

I was hoping you guys'd bring up the Prime Miko was drawing...though to me, it really looked a bit like Animated Prime.

    Great podcast, guys!

On the subject of "stoned Arcee", that was actually /co/'s theory. They've been running with it ever since the episode aired.

It's not as noticeable or blatant in still screenshots, but some of Arcee's facial expressions are kinda derpy and out-of-it. And she was surprisingly unobservant, yes.

This is the clearest shot I could get of Miko's drawing. People have been debating about whether it looks more like G1 or TFA Optimus (to me, it looks more like G1).

I also like the fact that their table is actually a door propped up on cinder blocks.

This is the first time you've noticed Starscream's high heels, Omegus? That's interesting, we've been chuckling over it for quite a while now. Then again, I suppose this is the first time that they've been so...obvious.

This is for Vangelus in particular: I have a theory about Raf's parents. It might be a bit controversial, but it works as far as I can tell, and it's not really any more disturbing than Vangelus's theories. Now, we know the following things about Raf's family:
    • They are a very large family.
    • They live in Nowhere, Nevada.
    • They don't seem to be very affluent, and
    • They seem pretty secretive.
Therefore, I suspect that Raf's family are crazy Nevadan Mormon polygamists. This explains the family's large size, and why they don't pay enough attention to Raf, because they have so many other children. It explains why Raf is so socially awkward, because such families tend to cut their children off from society as part of their culture. Of course, this will never actually be the case in the show, but it's fun to speculate anyway.

My 8-year old daughter called me out on Starscream's missile. I thought he had never fired it before, but she insisted he fired it in Con Job. Went back and checked, and she was right. I'm not going to live this one down for a while.

    Great podcast!

I'd watch it. I'd watch the hell out of it!

Something I forgot to say earlier: When you guys were talking about how Knock Out always steals the spotlight, I couldn't help but think that...well...that's pretty "in-character" for him.

He's a vain, smarmy dude who's particular about his appearance and chose an alt-mode that's very unusual for a Decepticon. His personality, his voice, his alt-mode...everything about him has basically been tailored to grab your attention. Even his paintjob is very different from the standard silver and/or dark, cool colours that every other Decepticon is sporting at the moment.

Basically what I'm saying is that Knock Out is an attention-grabber on purpose, both in-universe and out.

And I'm also hoping for more focus on Breakdown. We've gotten very little of him so far beyond "he's Knock Out's friend" and "he enjoys getting the chance to beat Autobots up". Hopefully the next episode (Operation: Breakdown) will give us more of his personality and backstory.

Yeah, it is basically the exact same tech, just one version is short range. So it makes sense that the Decepticons would have one too, sicne they were the ones who built a Space bridge. Although it is odd that we are only seeing it now.

It also never really was stated that the whole ground bridge thing was an exclusive thing to the Autobots. The only thing I recall being said about the one they have at base is that Ratchet built theirs out of salvaged parts.

In Con Job, Starscream fired one of his missiles at Wheeljack and he didn't move his fingers to do it. It's also during this episode that Starscream (or any Decepticon) said the word "ground bridge" for the first time:

Starscream: "The moment, Makeshift, passed through their ground bridge we lost his tracking signal."

    and later,

Starscream: "Makeshift, still hasn't opened their ground bridge or otherwise transmitted their coordinates."

Prior to watching, Shadow Zone, I always found these lines odd because if ground bridge technology is exclusive to the Autobots, how did Starscream know to call it that. Wouldn't he call it a space bridge or planet bridge or something else? It now makes sense if the Decepticons had ground bridge technology too; if it's common Cybertronian tech and not exclusive to any side. Also; it was said that, Ratchet, made their ground bridge but not that he invented the technology.

    ----------------------

This is also the first time Ratchet transformed on screen.

Yeah, What Ratchet did was impressive because he didn't have a lot to work with.

Shadowzone. Shadow of the Colossus. Coincidence? Probably. But the whole time Skyquake is chasing the kids, it really felt like the PS2 game Shadow of the Colossus, very ominous and tense. Pretty good ep.

One thing that struck me with this ep was how bloody annoying Raf was. Like, he just plucks the pseudo science out of his ass - twice - and is seemingly right about it. The character serves no purpose but to be an encyclopedia, bumblbee translater, and strangely unsettling sociopath.
