Why can't we all just get along!?!?!?

 

I had a similar experience and I'm not an irc n00b. It's impossible to find what you need in there and ops just aren't very helpful. Heck, some are just plain rude. But hey..we're at their mercy for subbed episodes so I guess they can act however they want, right?

 

Hmm... well, you can always import the actual DVDs... most Japanese stuff is becoming fairly easy to get in all region and with english subtitles. So... there's always alternatives... although I don't believe Victory has been released on DVD yet... or perhaps it has. It's hard to keep up with all the anime that I get through import shops and ebay.....  

As for my buddy DM, well... I wasn't allowed in either due (I'm assuming) for having a hotmail adress. And that's fine, they must have a real issue with hotmail and yahoo... perhaps they were done wrong by them a long time ago.

 

Actually, it's very easy to find stuff in the channel. You probably didn't read the rules and help pages, people aren't going to sit there and spoonfeed you stuff.

And people here aren't going to be terrible enamoured of you either if you carry on talking to people in the manner you have in this thread. You might want to brush up on your people skills a little before posting more. There is no excuse for rudeness, be it in an IRC channel or on a message board.

 

I actually did read the rules and tried it but it still didn't work. When asking for help, certain staff was very rude and condecending.

 

kinda hard to be sympathetic to the cries of "rudeness" from tvnihon, when you're attacked by their staff even when just asking a simple question. I really hope you guys have the sense not to act that way out in RL.

 

Yeah, this is kinda harsh. If you're going to continue to mention these rules that exist, why not actually help members of the fandom and point people in the direction of them? There's informative, there's helpful and then there's snappy.
 

 

The help pages are very detailed and guide you through everything needed to download (even includes pictures). If it can teach me how to download, it can teach anybody.

Maybe. And that's what I was trying to find an answer for. What in the realm of possibilities could it be? Yet I got no help at all.

 

They're not a tech support channel. Something like that is best left to a tech-support website.

thought that may be the case, I highly doubt it was the first time something like that happened. Anyway, ever hear of common courtesy? You know, like helping a tourist find a location in a foreign city, or like you sticking up for them even though you are apparently not staff?

 

If I was part of their staff, i'd have said so already.

They are courteous, they also happen to get many idiots coming into the channel/forums and not even reading the rules/help pages before they ask a stupid questions (i.e. When will **** be out?).

 

So the stupidity of others is reason for them act all a fool to a polite question? I think not.

 

Why should they be nice to people too lazy to read the rules and have common sense?

 

You seem to be hung up on the fact that anyone that asks a question in a forum with a low post count, asking newbie-style questions, is an idiot.

However, you have a low post count here, indicating that you might be a newbie. Why should we continue to communicate with you, when you've already indicated that you don't have any further information?
