I thought the same thing at first, but that changed when I first got my hands on some.

Recently, I purchased the Optimus Prime & Megatron Box Set along with Prowl at a local trade show and I was very impressed with the quality and detail that was put into creating these miniature versions of the original full-size G1 toys.

Quality wise, WST are made pretty well.

Just like anything else that's collectible, they should be handled with care.

When I was transforming Megatron, his arm popped off and I easily put it back on.

    Are they worth it?

IMO they are incredible and worth every penny!

It's cool seeing them displayed with bigger Transformers like the combiners, Metroplex, Fort Max, etc.

But be warned, WST are addictive... You're gonna want them all!

Do you mean the official Takara ones, or the versions released by Justitoys and Heerotoys?

A lot of the stuff is on pins or ball joints, so if stuff pops off, it can fit back on. Yes, they're tiny, yes, they're relatively fragile compared to larger, bulkier figures, but they're one of my favorite parts of my collection.

As for $14, it depends on who you're getting.

The official ones are quite solid but I wouldn't recommend forcing them against their will (I've heard of Screamer's missiles' pegs getting snapped off). The Dinos on the other hand need to be transformed w/ care otherwise they will break (I'm up to my 2nd Snarl).

& Bignick1693, to get your WST juices stirring...

All of mine feel solid. Just Megatron and Starscream are obnoxious since they fall apart pretty easily. They go right back together though. I don't have any of the Justitoys but that Shockwave calls to me just about every day...

If anyone reading this has a spare Convoy trailer you're looking to sell/trade, LMK :)

I bought Prime a couple of weeks ago just to get my hands on one and see what they're like. For the right price they're worth it (my Prime cab was $11 including shipping on eBay), but I wouldn't spend a fortune on them.

And the one I have is very durable.

They're fantastic, but I can't speak to the quality of the unofficial ones. I'd add that Reprolabels are a MUST to bring out the best in these guys. And yes, I will continue to point out that their official name is "Smallest Transforming Transformers".

    Here's my Autobots...
