Hmm, when they say most of the humor is the same, it worries me. The childish jokes were one of the weak points of the first film.

    Also, It's a trap?

I hope we get more of Sam's parents.

My whole family agrees they gave the movie some punch in the comic relief.

I hope we do NOT see Sam's Tree climbing friend.

Everything really depends on their writing and hopefully they pulled it off.

Man this really sucks, I thought they got rid of most of the humor. They don't know how to write comedy.

That and Bay's encouragement and insistence on this kind of humor doesn't help. I'm getting a bit fed up of Orci and Kurtzman, hire some real writer who spend more time on the character rather than sweet talking to the online community just to hide the films flaws.

yeah that was Bay's idea. He was like "hehe I had this great idea. It would be so funny if there were these twin autobots....." You can imagine the rest.

I agree. Just like they said they were huge TF fans kissing ass and said like a month later in a video "ehh, we were more Gi Joe fans than TF". Im sure Kreuger was put in there to make the movie not so shit tastic plot wise.

Sort of has me worried because some of the tone in the first movie and a good deal of the humor just wasn't very good.

Some times the tone hit it out of the ball park like when Blackout attacks the military base and other times the tone would jump so hard it seemed like you were watching a different movie. Ouch and couldn't we just have better humor, that would be better than balance.

Maybe it's all just worry over nothing, but some times I just get the worst feeling that I'm in for another wonderful and horrible trip down movie lane all over again.

Every positive review of Star Trek -a film for a franchise that is far more venerable and respectable than Transformers- disagrees with you. These dudes can actually write.

Then why didn't they apply it with Transformers if they are so good?

How do you know they haven't? ROTF might well be better written now that the writers have a better handle on the subject matter.

I'll give the writers some credit. What they're being tasked to do isn't easy. A movie like Transformers isn't a small low budget affair that's meant to cater to a narrow focused audience. This is a big budget action fest which has to appeal to the general masses. While needing to pay a little fan service, they also need to balance that with aspects that will appeal to non-fans to prevent alienting the vast majority of the market...some of which includes keeping the humor childish.

Not saying their work is a masterpiece or that similar scripts haven't been written better, but it's by no means terrible considering the constraints they have.

Transformers isn't quite as complicated a subject matter as Star Trek, you only have two basic races in it - Cybertronians and humans, and we knew they were pros beforehand, and after, so keeping a consistent tone shouldn't have been a problem for them. The humor, maybe.

Unless someone else was interfering, and perhaps the 'practice' was more 'practice' dealing with that person or persons and making them happy.

I really hope the humor isn't too similar. I don't know if I can stand hearing Prime saying "My bad" again, or Bumblebee urinating on someone.
