I like it, but I might be the only person with a moderate opinion on this piece. :)

I mean, it fits right in with the Wreckers comic. The artwork is typically crowded and a little indistinct, but that's Nick... especially with the condensed space restrictions for Mosaic pieces.

Nice touch with Ironfist looking at his own head-injury schematic right on the screen. The Guzzle thing is interesting, but it only highlights how disappointing it was to never really see Guzzle's issues with Kup come to the fore... did he join the Wreckers to KILL Kup? To meet him? Maybe it will get explored later, since both of them are still alive, but it feels like that was one story thread that was never allowed to develop further, maybe due to limited time.

Here's another question... are the Wreckers really just supposed to be the "best of the best"? Springer tells Pyro that he was at the top of the list, but I never got the impression that the Wreckers were simply an "elite" team. I mean, does that mean all the bots who were the "best they are at what they do" got a shot at the Wreckers? Are they the GIJOE team of the Autobots? Doesn't really make sense when you think about it... let's take our best and brightest up-and-coming officers, and put them on suicide missions. Hm.

I kind of figured it had something more to do with a suicidal mindset... reckless overachievers who seem to have something to prove in their psyche profiles. Better to harness that and put it to use. Pyro is a born paragon... except his obsession with earning this status of greatness makes him unfit to lead others... and possibly dangerous to himself. The Jumpstarters are also gung-ho nuts who might not fit into a conventional structure. Rotorstorm's sociopathic megalomania makes him also a bit on the crazy side. Ironfist... well for reasons that are now obvious, he is suited to the Wreckers, despite the fact that otherwise he might be considered too valuable to waste on suicide missions.

So yeah... what ARE the qualifications for being chosen for the Wreckers. Maybe it's something we'll see explored in the future?

Awesome in the truest sence of the word, but does this mean that Nick considers Rack'n Ruin to be dead? Seeing that the survival rate would be better if they were counted as one robot, it strongly suggests that they are. Too bad....

The Wreckers, just like in Marvel (UK) are not necessarily the best Autobot troops. The Dinobots or some other teams (like Perceptor's resistence cell on Cybertron) had more "big names" and more success.

The Wreckers, the way I see it, are simply a team of selected trained specialists to be sent in into key missions where the stakes are high. The reason that Prime doesn't send guys like say, Magnus, Prowl, Jazz or Jetfire, is because mortality on these missions is high. And people who join the Wreckers are aware of this. Mostly, the squad is composed of Bots who either do not fear death anymore or just want to prove themselves. I kinda think of them as DC's goverment-superhero teams - the brass points, they go there, no questions asked. They are expendable.

I'm surprised no-one spotted, but from what Ironfist says it is evident Rack'n Ruin died sometime during the long run since Pova.

LSTOW was awesome, and so is this mosaic. Anyone knows when the TPB is due? I really hope we get character sketches for everyone appearing, I mean, Overlord, the Predators, and also Squadron X.

I have started writing a series of Mosaics (drawing comes later) about the (now late)Squadron X and how they were formed, plus their first mission... It starts with Macabre's story and Megatron and Ravage are key players behind the scenes in putting together the squad. Thanks to Nick and Roberts for the inspiration, even if they are probably the fanwankiest TF team ever, Squadron X is just cool.
