well iv had the marvel crossovers mold for a little while now and was just waiting on a head. so i finally bought one off of Spoonman along with the Pyro head. its basically just a cast of the G1 head but it fits great.

i popped a balljoint in the head and neck, then made a shoulder cannon out of a pen and some styrene. and his rifle is from g1 perceptor

whats left to work on is more artillery. and a paint job. also i want to cast my masterpiece starscream hands someday soon whenever i get a casting kit, and use those for this guy.

    tell me what you think

Looks good so far. The only thing I'm lost on is is this the original Roadbuster or the DotM Roadbuster? Looking at the color scheme, I thought maybe you meant Leadfoot as he could pass for him with a bit of work.

    Looks good so far! :D

Your post is also a huge help to me, as I basically have the exact opposite from you: I've got my completed "painted-into-Roadbuster" body using the same IM2 crossover TF, but was stuck for a good Roadbuster head (and I hadn't yet put much effort into weapons).

I'll go look for Spoonman's thread for head ordering.

For what you're using for weapons, I love the shoulder cannon and leg-missiles you've built! The only part I'm not 100% on is that I'm not totally sure Perceptor's gun is quite big/impressive enough for Roadbuster - I always picture him with a larger main gun/rifle. Are you going to go for an ammo chain too? I'm trying to find something to use for that on mine as well.

When you get to painting him, note that there are a lot of rub-points where the paint likes to come off, so use a really good bonding paint for the joints (elbows, knees, ankles, etc).

I'll post a pic in here of my painted RB body tonight after I get home!

haha i look forward to seeing yours!

but yeah with the gun, its all i have right now that is rifle looking. it is a bit small, but for now it will do.

looking good, the G1 Roadbuster head goes so well with that mold. and it looks like this one is coming along very nicely, BTW i'll have to go bug spoonman about getting that head. was it easy to attatch a ball joint to the neck?

honestly it was a pain. but thats just for me with a limited amount of ball joints.

i ended up having to use an arm socket from a minimate figure and a ball joint from some small gundam. took a little bit of digging and drilling, but not too bad.

Love it. Even the head being a touch small is spot on!

How tall is this thing overall?

That's a logical choice for RB bro, I'm pretty sure he's gonna be another excellent wrecker soldier for your ranks. Personally I think he needs a bigger riffle though.

Way back in the old Kidbash discussion thread, I suggested this mold (well, the Captain America version) for Roadbuster. I love this figure a lot, and it's a damn fine match for Roadbuster with the heavy duty construction and wide wheel base.

But more recently I've found myself stuck on whether to follow this model or a taller alternate transformation, which sort of matches Roadbuster's G1 shape a bit more closely. I haven't really decided yet, but I figured I'd throw it out there, in case you wanted to make an Ironfist with the same mold, but wanted a different robot mode. :)

C'mon, Hasbro, just repaint/recast the body in brown, green and orange, and copy the old G1 head so the rest of us can have this!

WHHHOOOOOAAA!!!!! I see I'm not the only that figured would that Ironman transformer Humvee is good for. I got mine from Ross for under 10 bucks, feeling like something worth while could be made from - lo and behold it popped in my "ROADBUSTER". It floors me too see others thought of this too - say friend what figure did that head come from?
