    So I've been playing a lot of the excellent Mass Effect, driving around in the awesome MAKO and blowing stuff up. Then I was looking at Wreckage... and suddenly it dawned on me that Wreckage with some modding could make a decent transformable MAKO...

    Its still a WIP, but essentially its there. So far I've;

    i) Chopped the 8 wheels off (harder than I thought, the pins got in the way and trashed the hacksaw blade)
    ii) Taken off most of the detailing with a dremel, the MAKO is mostly smooth. Taking off the cockpit area actually made a hole right in the top.
    iii) Filled in that hole and other bits with this constuction filler stuff, which I took a risk on but actually worked really well. After drying it's been really easy to dremel back.
    iv) Attached fat wheels. Actually the wheels aren't attached permanently yet, and I'm not sure if I should do that or not. The wheels are cannabalised from two Hot Wheels WWE monster trucks, and the actual mounting is modded wire fasteners (those things people use to fix wires onto walls for phone lines and stuff). Once I removed the nail on those the axles fit perfectly in the hole!

    There's a long way to go, I still have to

    v) Paint it all white and silver
    vi) Add some home made labels to add all the detailing
    vii) Cover it all with a clear paint cover.

    It's actually my first 'proper' mod, everything else I've done has been relatively simple or just repaints. I'm quite pleased with the way it turning out. One thing I have noticed, I had grand ideas about how I was going to do things, but most have fallen along the wayside for good old fashioned fudging!

    That looks pretty awesome, but how will those big wheels look in bot mode? I assume you've got one on each arm and two on the legs, right? I look forward to seeing your progress in any case.

    Botmode, ASAP. I wanna see how goofy Wreckage looks trying to hold up those huge things. XD

    He looks rediculously goofy holding up those massive wheels... which kinda solved the whole 'do I attach these wheels on permanently or not?'

    In one of the new pictures the wheels are in the postions they would be in in Alt mode. In the other picture they're stowed away in two existing holes (perfect fit on his back) and two new holes I drilled into his shoulders.

    I'm off to break him apart now, mask him up and spray...

    Eeeeh, the uploader is screwy.

    I've labelled him up, now I'm going to apply a clear coat on top and hope the labels are sealed in without problems!

    Then I need to add silver aps to the alt mode, then the robot mode needs painting into a Taurian in Colossus armour!
