last night while at my friend's house, my hamster managed to lift the lid of his cage, climb out onto the shelf his cage is on, drop almost 3 feet onto a hardwood floor, run into my room, and hide in my closet. it took my dad and i 3 hours to find him, searching both upstairs and downstairs. wow

Sounds like the time 2 of my snakes got out. I discovered the escape the next morning. It took me a half hour to find them underneath the dryer in the next room.

My hamsters did that. Actually, my hamster never got out, but my brother's a retard and never closed the cage to his hamster's cage. -.-

my hamster has escaped from his cage on three occasions in the past year, all for longer than 6 hours, and with a cat in the house who would love to eat him. he's still alive and well. he's a lucky little guy, that's for sure.

i've had three hamsters in the past, I thnk all of them escaped at one point or another

the last one though, he jumped off and broke his back leg, it was sad. none of others got hurt jumping off the same desk. hamsters are stupid.

Mine did that a couple times. And then one time, my cat had climed into the cage and was stuck. Ha ha ha. Hampster cages suck.

Used to have a mouse that could escape from his cage no matter what I did to keep him in. He'd usually be found in the bathroom, trying to get at the water. Eventually, I moved his cage into the glass fronted cabinet my mother had for some of her ornaments, so even if he got out of the cage he couldn't go anywhere. RIP, Spot Houdini. :(

i just felt the need to bump this thread.
my hamster escaped yet again yesterday. i just went in and somehow he had popped one of his tunnels open and he was gone. i didn't find him all day, and i had pretty much given up. i was going to lock the cat in the basement for the night and hope the hamster wasn't there since his cage is on the upstairs level of the house. i was gonna get a live mouse trap and give that a try, until i woke up at 2 am and went to the kitchen to get a drink. there was the hamster, sitting on the pizza box from supper time, eating the crumbs out of it. he had travelled all the way downstairs and to the other side of the house, and here i was checking the bedrooms all day. crazy.

If you spot Richard Gere driving around your house, now you'll know why.
