I ordered a RTS Battle in Space last week on TRU site for $20 now its $23 all of a sudden. I thought TRU wouldn't hike up the price.
I wouldn't jump to conclusions. Maybe there's another reason for the price rise? (the cynic inside me would tend to agree with you though... )
It's the traditional 10% price hike. They do it on LEGO sets all the time (at least annually). I stopped in a TRU today and saw two different shelf tags for BiS: one for 19.99, the other for 22.99. Oh, those wacky price-hikers...what'll they think of next?
The set just came out on the site last week and then exactly a week later its gone up i think they are just prey on collectors demand.
btw, same thing happened in the stores. This actually seems to happen quite frequently. Friend said he picked up MP Grimnlock for $60, the following week it was $70.
TRU does this all the time. Not TF's, but their Green Lantern DC Classics line went from $15 to $18 within the past few days.. they've only been out for a few weeks. Their Ghostbusters holiday set went from $60, to a 4 week long sale of $50, then came off the sale and went up to $65.. all a matter of 2 and a half months of being released. I'm never surprised when I go in there. They're all over the place.
It's TRU. I'm surprised it wasn't 23 bucks in the first place. But yeah, after the Animated Rodimus debacle it wouldn't surprise me.
I got MP Grimlock on TRU's site with free shipping (orders over $50 qualified during that month) for $60 when it was first up.
Not as bad as what amazon.com and bestbuy have been know to do, dear god!!!!!! $450 dollars for CHUG Kup, were they for real!!!!!!!!!!! Also back in the day Amazon pages would automatically change prices when you specifically logged onto a page of something it thought you'd be down to buy and it would be higher if you hadn't deleted your cookies, but they got caught.
