According to michaelbay.com there were 500,000 downloads of the teaser and the site crashed.
Some kind of mess? People is it that serious? I mean, I know it was awesome, but are we gonna break down the door over a Super Bowl spot? And that wasn't even the official teaser.
I suppose we're all gonna go see "Friday the 13th" now?
who needs DDoS attacks when you've got fanboys demanding trailers?
I wonder if the RotF Official Trailer will break the first movie's record for Most Viewed Trailer of All Time...
Who knows. I heard people were paying full admission just to see the trailer for "The Phantom Menace."
and all because I have some crappy version of quicktime and a primitive version of mac OS x 3.2(Panther) it can't be upgraded so I'm missing out on having the teaser on my hard drive.
and what sucks even more is my stupid mac can't play .mp4(mpeg-4) files on my quicktime or itunes *sigh*
Man, this just plain sucks ass.
Yesss.... If this keeps up then maybe Y2K will happen and the machines will rule, all because they were aspired by this trailer downloaded to every computer in existence.
... Apparently it is so awesome that it made my broken printer to work and print out one page perfectly. And now after 30 mins of trying to get it to work again it will not. Thanks
If memory serves, the 2007 TF trailer dwarfed that number of dowloads by like 3x as many the day it hit the web.
That was the official trailer, not the teaser.
That trailer, the full-length one that premiered on Yahoo!, holds the record for most-watched movie trailer of all time. I was referring to that when I mentioned how I wonder if the RotF official trailer will beat the first movie's trailer for "Most-Watched Trailer Ever."
Be cool if the ROTF trailer, either the teaser or the full version, did beat that record.
The hype among fans is building.
The official Facebook page went from 2000 members on Sunday to over 30,000 today. A lot of the people who posted there aren't fanboys/girls either, just people who liked the first movie or who thought the teaser trailer was awesome...and almost all the comments have been positive. Looks like it's drawn "average moviegoer" attention quite well.
I posted this on Sunday, but it was in that gigantic trailer thread that filled quickly. When the trailer was posted at midnight on YouTube:
"In the 14 hours that the TF:ROTF teaser was on YouTube before it was taken down, it was viewed over 475,682 times. Compare to these which were posted at roughly the same hour, but still live 14 hours later:
Star Trek: 111,185
GI Joe: 43,819
Fast and the Furious 4: 63,190
There's obviously a dramatic level of interest by the culture at large.
Yeah but the one we have is equivalent to the mars rover trailer. Not the official kick ass trailer we saw for the first one.
It's all in fun. And this is the official teaser. The trailer is due in a few days and I think I heard mention of another teaser.
