Just imagine the original 1984 toy in these colors. Or perhaps the upcoming Masterpiece toy.
Hasbro mp edition. But I would like this to be some ehobby design
He's always been that colour to me, but in all fairness I think the blue looks better design wise, so I'll probably stick to that one if any
I think it could be a cool repaint though, but ideally on something smaller like a WFC/FOC repaint oppose to a MP or 3rd party something.
I've recently finally been reading the old Marvel comics and had similar thoughts about some of the bizarro color schemes. I don't know if I'd buy any of them, but throwing one in to a wave as a repaint at some point could be interesting.
Probably not. I think those colors look really off.
I wouldn't mind getting the WST figure in that scheme simply for the oddity of having a Soundwave who is trying to impersonate Shockwave.
Repaint of the upcoming Voyager, with Squawktalk and Beastbox.
Were the colors on anyone ever consistent back then? I've seen him purple, pink, blue, gray in those comics for example. I think in the UK versions there were variations on color as well.
No that is a LIE! Only the G1 cartoon is at fault, the G1 Marvel comics were perfection incarnated without any characters in wrong colorschemes at all!
... or so I have heard (or read actually)
I grew up with the blue Soundwave. The cartoon and i had the toy. I must say no to the purple. But thats just me.
Sure. As long as he's got a purple helmet.
G1 and colors is strange for me. With some figures the cartoon appearance is the absolute standard (e.g. Skyfire, Ironhide, Thundercracker), with some the toys (e.g. Motormaster) and with some the comic is most important.
Soundwave may have been blue in the cartoon and as a toy, but I honestly quite like the purple comicbook version.
My preference is still blue, but should TT release the MP in comic colors then I might just bite and make that my MP Soundwave.
YES! Absolutely I would buy a Marvel Masterpiece Soundwave. I really regret not buying Grimlock.
I wouldn't want it personally but would be forced into buying one if it were to come with a new Cassettecon.
I'd punch someone if those were the colors of the official release. I may consider it if it's a repaint, but not as the primary release.
The comics back then were often miscolored (not just tf) because of the print process there would be shifts. That being said a purple variant would be cool as long as it was a dark purple or closer to the blue. The toy was blue before tf and remained blue so, to me, blue is official.
I'd love to see some 2-packs in the style of those star wars sets with the marvel colours packed in with a comic. I think it would be a great way to get some of these unique colour schemes out there. Personally I'd love to see a Marvel colours Starscream, he was... interesting to say the least.
Even his cartoon colours were different to the toy. The cartoon gave him a much darker shade of blue and a red visor.
I'd have no problem with a purple repaint.
Give him a new head mold with a removeable faceplate as Marvel also showed him with a mouth.
I'd love to see other characters get head remolds based on their Marvel appearances:
Also, looking of the pic with Soundwave and Treadshot reminds me it's time Classics Megatron got a repaint and head remold.
I think it'd be cool. Purple' my favorite color, and it would go great with King Grimlock (who I would love to get).
