I have a question for everyone. I have Botcon "Til All Are One" CD that is still sealed. The thing is I really have to fight off the temptation to open it up and listen to it. I really enjoy the music from the original movie and I know that not listening to a CD kind of defeats the purpose of having it in the first place, but I also like the idea of keeping my CD in it's original shrinkwrap. So what would you do? Open it up and listen to it, or keep it sealed?

I open everything except vintage toys.

If a toy's been kept sealed for 20+ years, I just can't bring myself to open it. :p

If you're really paranoid about scratching it, put it straight into your CD-Rom & burn a copy to listen to, then keep the original someplace safe. :thumb

Since you paid for it, download a copy. You paid for your right to own it. But honestly, I opened mine the moment I got it in the mail. I love disc 2 (it's nice owning the complete Movie musical score.

Open that sucker! I had that album a few years back; lots of great trance music. Good album to read a book to, honestly.

No, it's just the regular CD. I probably wouldn't be asking this question if I had bought the CD when it first came out, but I paid a pretty decent price for it on Ebay a couple of years ago.

I don't open up doubles of something, if I don't feel like it, or if I have the same mold, but in a different color scheme. EG- some of my BTs. But if it's the only one I have or I want to display or listen to it, the thing could fetch $500, I wouldn't flinch. TFs are not getting me or my kids through college. I'm only selling the ones that I really truly don't care for. Right now, that doesn't amount to a whole lot.

Yup, tho I'd try and get someone to burn you a copy first, DL it as a second option. Why open it if you don't need to?

If you do open it, I'd rip it and then put the CD back. I used to keep my originals in the car until one day I thought I lost my CD case.... They've been kept in a safe place ever since.

Yeah I am in the camp that if you really don't feel comfortable opening it, get a copy of it from someone. As long as you own it and can prove that you own it, having a copy is not illegal.

I made copies of mine after my first copy got stolen (along with all my other CDs) out of my car, and had to track down another one. So now I make a copy of all my CDs and keep the originals in a safe place. Plus if they get scratched or otherwise ruined... you can just get/make another copy.

i think the main reason he doesn't want to open it is the same as toys...it's a collectible. This cd is very hard to find, and commands a decent price. As of right now, none on Ebay. I have Till all are One, and Lighting Their darkest hour..both are VHTF

That is pretty much it. Infact the copy I got from Ebay was probably the last time a sealed copy was even offered on Ebay and that was almost three years ago. People are paying 100 dollars for a bootleg these days, so I would imagine a sealed legitimate copy would be worth atleast more than that. Opening it up makes it value drop. Thanks for all your opinons. I guess I will probably end up looking to download the score on the internet at some point.
