In the novel, Mirage dies (In the version I have, his head is torn clean off.
In the movie, Wheeljack's executed.

Actually yes, because mirage is just another Autobot badass warrior, and we have plenty of those. I liked that Wheeljack is something different. Not a warrior, an inventor.

 

Neither character left an impression on me. But if I had to choose... ripping an opponents head off and then using it to taunt your comrades had the potential to be just as moving as the public execution of Que. So, either way would have worked, but I think it would have been cool to see Dino get owned.

 

By the way, your poll just has Mirage and Dino as choices. :l

Meh. Wheeljack had slightly more uniqueness to him than Dino/Mirage, so sure, I guess. But I don't think the scene would have worked with the two switched.

WheeljaQ had much more character than Dino could ever hope to have, WheeljaQ was a gentle old man who loved to craft his work but also disliked battle and warfare, that's unique in the movie-verse, Dino is just an italian Sideswipe.

 

Uuuhhhmm. I hate dino/mirage so, I dont care. Wheeljack for me. He was much more peaceful. Plus he invents stuff. Which one is for Dino or Wheeljack?????

 

The game gave Mirage a personality and I like his design. Wheeljack was cool but his head was both stupid and ugly. However, Mirage is a warrior and Wheeljack is a scientist. So I think it's better if Mirage is killed. If he gets his novel death, he makes Starscream look cool but if he gets his comic death, where he dies in place of Wheeljack, he makes Soundwave seem smarter. Why start with a scientist instead of a warrior?

My real preference is them both dying, like in the novel. The Cons needed more kills. Even if Ferrari wouldn't let Bay kill Mirage and forced them to rename him Dino, there is no reason why they couldn't have killed Sideswipe instead.

 

How about both! Would've maybe made the cons have more kills then Sam goddamnit.

Anyway, Wheeljack. It was more emotional since he was actually afraid to die.

 

Wheeljack dying made the scene work better.

 

Dino was a cool character. Q was a hideous monstrosity that I felt no emotional attachment when he assumed ground temperature.

 

I agree with this! 

I can't really say that I'd liked any of them to die.

 

If Dino had been the one to be executed he would have died a POW, Jackie wasn't a fighter and thus getting slaughtered seemed more impactful. Not that any of this was apparent to the general audience.

 

DINO MUST DIE!!!

I felt really bad for poor Que when he got killed so the scene really worked but if Dino had died then we would of got Que getting killed under the bridge which isn't quite as powerful as the "only trophy" scene. So I preferred it the way it was.
