    These illustrations look interesting by themselves, but as transformers. So no.

    But...they're immortal machines.

    I cannot imagine selective pressures mean the same things to them as they do to short-lived biological organisms.

    However, I'm fine with Cybertronians, as a whole, having a somewhat "default" mode for the majority of the race, with some variations like Steeljaw or Ratbat for flavour. Honestly, look at the sheer variety in physical types we got in G1. 2 arms, 2 legs, and a head covers a lot of ground.

    But I don't mind the occasional digitigrade leg, wheel, or extra arm.

    Absolutely. Transformers are not human, so why should they always have aa relatively humanoid robot mode?
