Seeing as IDW have been introducing RID (V1), Prime and Beast Wars characters into their fiction, how would you feel about them also introducing Timelines characters?

I know Fun Pub try to support their own creations with prose and by putting them into other FP stories, but would you like seeing some of them pop up elsewhere?

 

Not really a Timelines character but I would like to see Dion in IDW.

I don't think there are that many that originate in Timelines but sure, throw 'em in! They've certainly trickled out to other toylines, like Shadow Striker and Flamewar.

 

As long as its not Shattered Glass characters which should just go away and never come back.

 

I dunno IDW shattered glass could actually be good, under a good writer of course.

 

All the Shattered Glass! Seriously I'd love to see them brought in. Beyond that the only characters I can think of is Sentinel Maximus, Flamewar, Roulette, & Shadow Striker. Oh and as a side bring in Stinger and Oilmaster.

 

Shattered Glass as portrayed in the admittedly small sample of club stuff I've read is a lazy, soulless abomination consisting of character swaps.

That said, I could see a good Shattered Glass style comic if IDW sets it in the Functionist universe. Given the Decepticon faction's origin in the oppression of the Functionists in the core universe, the notion of a "what if" style universe has a lot of potential.

 

Some SG characters would work as colonist- just not being anyone's actual counterpart in as literal a sense as normal.


Really, if there's a TF character, they can probably work in IDW in some sense.

 

Any new characters are welcome as long as they're well written. Be a nice break from Bumblebee, Rattrap, Wheeljack, Starscream and Optimus Prime.

 

I wouldn't mind some Shatered Glass AS LONG as it doesn't crossover with the main series.

In terms of characters I'm not entirely sure what defines a "timelines" original character. I guess there's Flamewar but that's about it.

Unless you want to count, like, Ricochet or someone.

 

There's Landshark and Flak too.

 

I'm going to say no, just because their toys would be too expensive.

 

Now that a multiverse has been established in continuity? Sure, why not?
IDW Rodimus has already appeared in the Regen universe.

 

Odd choice of character to talk about as if they're over-exposed. Grimlock or Megatron would make a hell of a lot more sense for that list.

As for the question at hand, I really don't care either way. I'd care just as much as a FunPub character as a completely original character.

 

I'd love to see Landshark. Robot Chevy Chase....why the fuck not?
