    No.

Absolutely NO! G1 ran it's course as a cartoon and as a comic. In my opinion it's over, done, finished! It'd just be like Regeneration One. Trying to shill in all the last mainstreaming stories.

Let G1 die already. I'd kind of like a sequel to Transformers Animated more than G1. Let G1 RIP!

Sorry if I sound harsh but that's my opinion.

Only partially. Everything was shared until Rebirth.

I've wanted a sequel to G1 ever since G2 was on the air. Heck we can now do it in 2017 as "It's been 10 years since the Decepticons were banished to deep space. Cybertron is restored as is now at peace...."

They should continue with the g1 series starting with the end of the rebirth. That would be great. It'll never happen thought :(

Japanese likes to shoehorn everything into the G1 cartoon continuity, so it's no surprise they made Beast Wars a direct sequel, while in the Western it was left ambigious.

What Japanese do with their own version of G1 doesn't effect the Western continuity. It doesn't matter if they share the original cartoon.

G1 needs so many untold stories done to fill in those gaps way before anybody should be talking about a sequel.

Still, BW does fit with the G1 cartoon, for the most part. The only thing that doesn't is Blackarachnia saying the great war ended three centuries before their time, and considering that BW TF have their own separate units of time, it's easy to write that off as her getting the meaning of the word wrong. Plus, the Great Upgrade fits with the Micromasters. Even if it's never been explicitly stated, I don't see any real reason to say BW isn't part of the G1 cartoon universe, outside of a dislike for either show.

I voted no because I'd rather see a revamp ala the 2003 MOTU revamp. That series did He-Man right, and I'd love to see G1 get that same treatment.

Yeah but I'm not saying BW is non-canon to Western G1, it may very well be, I'm just saying TakaraTomy doesn't have any authority on the Western G1, so the things they say is only true for the JG1.

While it could be cool if done right, I'm gonna say no. Everyone has their own ideas for what a G1 cartoon sequel should entail, and the expectations placed on it would be too high for it to fulfill. It would never satisfy everyone. and given how fickle this fandom can get, it'll probably end up with more people being dissatisfied than anything.

Sure, and then we can get a sequel to Beast Wars and Beast Machines and Armada and RiD and Animated and Prime (and of course Masterforce and Victory and all the others) and then we won't have to worry about what'll be coming down the pipe for the next 30 years.

Generations has already shown us this can work. They're already up to headmasters, after all.

So, the Japanese exclusive G1 cartoons, the Generation 2 comics, Beast Wars, Beast Machines, Beast Wars II, Beast Wars Neo, and Regeneration One don't count?

Honestly, I think we've had all the G1 media we need for now. I'd rather see what new ideas they come up with.

Yes, how about its set years after the end of the Rebirth not right after with flashbacks to tell stories of what happened between the Rebirth and the new show. And bring in guys from the 88 to 90 line up with maybe some G2 guys as well.

We got one, it was called Beast Wars.

The best sequel you could ever give G1 is any of the multitude of reimaginings that pay homage to it and expand on the seeds of ideas it planted but never took advantage of. The G1 cartoon was pretty damn hollow and it'd be hard to do a straight-up sequel that featured any amount of substance and depth to it that didn't feel fundamentally incompatible with the original cartoon in some way.

love beast wars as a continuation of g1 but I would like something during the 20 years between season 2 and movie and then something that ties all of it together

G2 should have been a cartoon. Similar to the comic. It could have probably used exo_squad type animation and would have been kickass back then.
Better than the cybernetic space cube.
    Oh well

Id like a G1 type movie the way batman has hella good well animated movies....

Exactly. IDW is close enough to G1 for me.
