I was thinking about this the other day, since we all know how they went with the "young rookie" approach with Optimus in Animated, but are you're thoughts about a what if situation where that had taken that same approach with Megatron? They could've kept much of the backstory they've alluded to, with the main change being that Galvatron/Scorponok/whoever was the original leader of the Deceptions, and Megatron was a young terrorist looking to revive the movement. Maybe that would've been too much like Beast Wars, but at the same time, I think that it could've made the dynamic between Optimus and Megatron more interesting if they were both just starting out in their respective leadership roles. As both evolve into their more classic personas.
They can`t all be kids, it would get all wierd. The villan has to be older to have depth and history, a vetran of great wars and general badass. If he was just a rookie he would be like a playground bully
I think Starscream fills that role for all intent and purposes, taking away the fact that I wouldn't call him "youthful" or "rookie".
Depends how the character is developed. I mean, you could make Optimus a ultra badass just like G1, but if the character isn't handled right he just ends up bland.
