So I know that with previous Botcons the figures have been from lines like Classics, Universe, Cybertron etc. My question is would you go to Botcon 2011 (or just be really disappointed) if the toys were from the movie line or animated line?

Movie toys will never be Botcon exclusives because all rights are owned by Dreamworks/Paramount

Animated yes, movie no. It would give me an excuse to own anything animated. As it stands now I only collect Classics/Universe/Generations lines.

I think that if the animated figures had some good repaints and a nice new head sculpt at the least, I would want them. But if it was movie, I would vomit and be angry!!!!!

I wouldn't let a set of toy souvenirs be the deciding factor on whether or not I attend Botcon.

Not even if they reissued Descent into Evil.

Don't like movie toys and has been avoiding them like the plague since they came out. Own maybe 6 toys from the line and regret even owning those. Go figure. Animated I may consider but depends on what they do.

I only own three, all new of course and they are the only ones I've ever cared for. Seaspray, Legends Ravage and Hubcap. Seaspray and hubcap have a very Classics feel to them.

I wouldn't go, but I would probably still try and find a way to acquire the set.

You should edit your poll considering how polarizing those lines are. A lot of people HATE the movie and animated lines.

I for one HATE movie figures, not only would I not go but I might just make efforts to boycott Botcon 2011 if that happened! :)

While I like animated, those would have to be some pretty awesome repaints to make me want to get repaints of animated figures. Besides a blue Arcee (character name escapes me at 2 AM), and a Cybertron mode Prime repaint as Kup (another FR repaint for them to steal) I cant think of any more animated repaints worth doing (OK maybe Thundercraker too).

    I wouldn't like movie toys...

I maybe would go for the animated toys. I'd love Beast Wars themed animated toys..

I would go just for the sake of going to my first botcon. If toys were a deciding factor, there'd be no way in HELL I'd go for movie toys. That whole line is crap and the bayverse can go screw itself.

I'd go for its location, but wouldn't get toys from either of those lines. CHUG is home for me.

Location/convenience determines whether I go to Botcon or not. The exclusives are a separate matter.

I'd be all over an Animated-based set, however.

This. The toys are not deal-breakers for me. They're important, but I go mainly to be in a room filled with Transformers and Transformer fans for an entire weekend. To see stuff that's coming up, and stuff that I'd never get to see anywhere else like original resin molds. The only deal-breaker for me is location. And, I suppose, available funds.

Neither set would convince me to go, but I would probably purchase non-attendee sets for both.

Funpub have said they're staying away from Animated, and for licensing reasons the movieverse is a no go.

Also, to those who say that a boxed set of either of the above would stop them going to Botcon... really? You do realise you can just sell the set straight away at a profit? Or are you really that precious when it comes to toys that it would stop you going altogether?
