Seeing how Grimlock may be the only FOC Dinobot to get a toy for next year would you like to see a Third Party company make figures of Swoop,Slug,Snarl, and Sludge in order to complete the FOC Dinobot lineup? I'd love to see that happening.

Well...there's the TFC, but I'm not completely satisfied. But TFC Swoop looks pretty good, but not sold on the rest. Been waiting for the dinobots. Still hoping Hasbro will come through, but it's up in the air.

In a heartbeat. I don't think anyone that has played the game would pass on these characters if a third party company made them. Hell, I'm not even sure I would trust Hasbro to make them in the first place. Number one, they simply won't make them. Number two...if in the odd circumstance they did, they'd be just as crappy as any of the other recent releases.

Why there wasn't a set of Dinobots and/or Metroplex readily available on shelves immediately following the release of the game is one of the stupidest company decisions I've ever seen made by Hasbro. Holding back the Transformers Prime line a year into the cartoon certainly worked. Grimlock will probably come out when the sequel to Fall of Cybertron comes out.

C'mon third parties. It's time to make the rest of the War for Cybertron lineup (I know Fall of Cybertron is probably hands-off for now since it's in the spotlight!)

Maybe. I'm not a huge Dinobot fan. Slug would tempt me because I love that dino and the design of him in game. Swoop might as well.

If hasbro absolutely doesnt go through with it, in a heartbeat. Especially Sludge, who seems the least likely to get a toy.

Seriously when was the last time we got all 5 of the dinobots? G1?

    Also tfc swoop? Link?

Pretty sure it'd be physically impossible for HMS to make a whole new game by Feb :p

Also kudos on dissing Grimlock a full third of a year before release /confetti

    Sure.

Sludge's arm has to be on a balljoint though, for obvious reasons.

And his name has to be Slag.

absolutely, the figures had better be on the same design cues at the FoC Grimlock or make their own line with their own Grimlock.

I also would like working flamethrowers

Is it really that wrong to have more faith in High Moon than Hasbro? :)

Grimlock does appear to be lacking a waist...which, to me (and other collectors) is a pivotal joint. Believe me, I hope they prove me wrong...and regardless...I'll be buying him because he was just that awesome in the game (and I typically hate the character of Grimlock).

Which I've always found to be a somewhat... questionable point of view. It's hardly a standard point of articulation, and one that's most readily sacrificed if a transformation would interfere with it.

It's also an exceedingly subtle joint. More than maybe 20 degrees of motion in either direction looks stupid, and in most cases, proper leg posture picks up most of the slack anyways that waist articulation is moot.

I don't disparage that point of articulation when it's there, mind you, but as far as "frivolous" points of articulation go, ball-jointed necks, rocker ankles, hinged/swivel wrists, and even ab crunches do far more for adding life and dynamism to a pose than waist swivels ever do.

As for the topic at hand, totally. IMO, the FoC designs are the best the Dinobots have ever looked and would love to seem them translated to plastic. I wouldn't even mind a Grimlock redo. While the official offering isn't bad or anything, it lacks a certain sense of proportion and attitude, probably as a result of the internal LED gimmickry, and I think without that concession, and a free-er budget, it could go from simply "pretty cool" to absolutely stellar.

Hasbro's doing an insecticon or two...I wouldn't rule out other dinobots just yet.

It'd be stupid to put a lot of work into it and then have to stop for fear of copyright infringement. Look at all the work that went into the MP Soundwave that had to get cancelled.

And if they were to do them, and keep them in scale with Hasbro's Grimlock, they'd need to be deluxes. Grimlock was heaps bigger than his teammates in the game.

Tbh, I would prefer MP dinobots. But I wouldn't mind FoC dinobots as they would make the classics shelf anyway.

The hasbro one is destined for the classics shelve.

Yes. I'd just slap them into my Classics and be done with needing Dinobots.

Yes, but I would prefer a WfC Trypticon, Omega Supreme or Metroplex. After all, 3rd party guys are the best people to look up to for these as knowing Hasbro...
