I was thinking the other day, what if Takara or Hasbro released Generation One reissues in Movie color schemes? Would you buy them? I just want your opinion on the matter.

Would you buy a BumbleBee with black stripes? An Optimus Prime with red and blue flames? A silver Jazz, Sideswipe, or Soundwave? A tan Megatron(japan only) and Starscream? Or even a blue Wheeljack?(<-I know they don't have his mold. Just use your imagination with that one.)

Maybe even reissue Generation 2 Megatron in ROTF Megatron colors for the American market.

Well e-hobby has already released G1 Ironhide and Ratchet in movie colours, which I presume is why you didn't mention them. Megatron and Wheeljack reissues are out of the question for US releases, and a Japanese release in Wheeljack's case. Starscream and Bumblebee I wouldn't mind, but G1 Optimus with flames would look kind of odd to me.

Some G1 molds are lost forever (including Wheeljack, I believe) but I like this idea.

eh, i don't think many of those would look very good. But then again a red G1 Mirage might look nice

As well as G1 Ironhide and Ratchet in movie colors, there were also G1 Skids And Screech in movie Skids and Mudflap colors.

I think one of the latest WTF@TFWs mentioned a G1 Devastator in Movie colors.

I'm not a huge fan of G1 toys, but I'd buy that.

    Ah, forgot those! :)

Isn't Mirage's mold lost aswell? Or am I thinking of someone else? I seriously can't keep up with lost molds anymore... *sigh* I have such a hard life... ;)  :lol

I wouldn't be interested. The only one of the existing lot of movie colored G1 figures that I have is the black ironhide as a diaclone homage, wouldn't pay for the other ones.

This is disturbing! I think it would be a disgrace to the G1 legend, so HELLS no man!

I rather spend the money on posable transformers in the movie series over reissues brick transformers in movie schemes.

Yeah I would...I already have Ratchet and Ironhide, I'd probably at least get Optimus, Bumblebee and Jazz to complete the original Autobot cast. However I think I'd rather have the repaints be of the Classics molds...and BB's already done so the other four then lol

& the only one out of those 4 that looks any good is Diaclone Ironhide - the rest of them are pretty forgettable. Yeah, I just can't see myself buying any potential G1 Reissues w/ Bayverse paintjobs.

I'd buy a Starscream with the tattoos, but other than that no. I'd buy Classics styled figures in movie colors.

Is that sarcasm, or are you serious?

I'd actually like to pick up one of those Generations exclusive Screech toys to serve as a G1 Mudflap (it would work great based on the way I display one shelf of toys), but I've been hesitant to buy the actual two-pack with the G1 Skids, because I know I'd want the eHobby movie color Ironhide and Ratchet and then I'd be hoping eHobby would keep it going with other Movie-themed reissues (silver Jazz and Sideswipe, black striped Bumblebee, dark grey Starscream, blue Wheelie, movie color Constructicons, etc.) and my wallet would hate me more than it already does just for thinking that.

I wouldn't see myself buying any of them. They would probably be a sort of rare niche.

It would interesting to see, but I don't think I'd buy any. Ehobby sort of did the silver Jazz, they did one up in silver chrome. A bit overkill perhaps. :D
