I don't have any imput with third parties, but I was just wondering if there's anyone else out there who would like the third parties to fill some of the gaps in our movie collections?

I know a lot of people have a hate on for the movies, please don't post that here.

Here's a few of the things I'd like:

    Deluxe or HA-sized Dino/Mirage
Deluxe Crowbar and Hatchet (could be mods/parts/add-ons to the DX Crankcase)
DX Weaponized Roadbuster (again, could be just a few parts to swap out)
DX/Voyager Constructicons (with or without the ability to combine)

I understand that there is probably not as large a market for these are there is for a "classics Devastator" but some of them would only require a very small number of parts. I think a kit to weaponize Roadbuster is my top want right now. Once I get Leadfoot (somehow) I'd really like it if they were all the same.

With the recent news concerning DOTM, this is probably a great time for some of the 3rd party groups to try and cash in on the demand for Que and Dino. I don't know how much they would invest, but I could see a complete figure in a sea of upgrade kits.

Only one I'd consider is weaponized Roadbuster. Everything else, no.

I think this thread is directed more toward actual movie toy collectors, so their opinions on the subject would be of greater use than those that don't collect movie toys (myself included).

Yes, but my standards would be incredibly high. I don't think any current 3rd party could pull off the movie aesthetic.

Yeah, that was my intent. Maybe I'd have gotten more response in the movie forums than here in the 3rd Party forums...

How about this? Would people like toys of "classics"-ified or "G1-styled" movie characters? I know I would like a "G1" Barricade, or Blackout.

no. the movieverse part of my collection is slowly becoming less and less interesting. tempted to sell some off, make some room. 3rd party for me is pretty much only G1.

    Unless they do Animated.

I agree, if you look at most third party stuff, it's big and chunky, which is very not-movie style. However, I think Animated's style would not be too hard to pull off (from an engineering point of view at the very least).

Plus there are tons of leftover character designs, models and such to base them off of.

    In a heartbeat.

But they'd have to be really good. I honestly don't see 3rd party companies being able to pull it off.

Sure would, but I doubt 3rd parties would be able to duplicate the look, feel and complexity of real movie toys. I would like to see the missing Constructicons, a good deluxe Frenzy, Mirage, a deluxe Mountain Dew bot, etc.

    I'd probably like that.
