Personaly I thought it was a great design, it kept true to the character in both alt and bot mode. And seen as we've seen his head on the set in Chicago, which is exactly the same as the ROTF one, so where does this keep the rest of his design? I'd be thrilled if they used the ROTF design, it was just too good to waste. Here's hopeing for a voyager of it.

i honestly hope it stays close to the ROTF design but also changes a bit hopefully he wont be so short as to what his figure showed him being. Its deff a awsome design a few minor tweaks wont hurt though.

Well for one thing we dont know the size of the satalite he turns into, and looking at that picture of Shockwave and Soundwave's heads, I'd say, because Shockwave would be about Megs' height or slightly shorter, Soundwave would be about between the height of Ironhide and Prime.

I don't think they would have to change the head just because he changed around his bot mode to fit an Earth alt mode.

In Revenge of the Fallen I can see where he really didn't need an Earth alt mode because he was in orbit the whole time. But the photo from the filming says that he comes down to Earth in the third film so I think he's going to need that Earth mode. A Cybertronian alt mode only seems like something unique to Megatron.

Nah. I want more Earth modes and less Cybertronian mode toys. Cybertronian vehicles, ESPECIALLY Movieverse ones, kind of, yannow, suck. I'm all for Soundwave becoming either a Scion xB or a stealth bomber.

To me, it doesn't matter what Soundwave looks like in TF3.

If he gets an Earth mode though, I just hope it fits with who he is.

I liked the Cybertronian Satellite mode, but I'd be happy if he scanned, like, a gigantic satellite (fictional, of course). I don't think having him turn into a truck or something on Earth does his character justice. Not only that, I liked his ROTF design, it was very spidery and creepy.
I don't like the new head very much, and I'd prefer if he kept it more like ROTF, which is actually closer to G1 Soundwave.

I don't mind, either way. I really liked his satellite altmode in RotF, and I still wonder what the robot mode for it looks like (no, the toy doesn't count). But I also want to see him as some kind of Earth vehicle, just so he can get a good chase sequence, and the Earthmode bots all look better then the Cybertronian mode bots. I just hope that he will keep the RotF head though, the new one is awful.

You suck. :-D It's actually one of my favorites, aesthetically. Transformation is stupid and fidgetty, but darn it, if that little toy didn't look like he could spider monkey that Megatron pansy....I don't know what else could.

Well, looking back at the concept art from TF2, Soundwave head here looks A LOT like the Stick-Head, and less like the toy concept images. Plus, with the sighting of that Chevy Suburban with the Decepticon Symbol, I would say that this design is not going to be too far off, to be honest.

I like his ROTF robot mode so I wouldn't mind if he kept it during the film, but if he takes on an Earth mode then he would need it changed (even slightly)

Maybe for a little while since I quite liked that body. But perhaps as he spends longer on Earth he decides he needs a more suitable alt mode.
Hasbro could use it as an excuse to release that mold again, but I dunno if the movie bods would want to spend out on a CGI model of Soundwave's Cybertronian body if they're gonna have to give him a different one later as well.
