I am considering making an upgrade kit for the G1 devastator that will bring it more in line with modern toys. More posability, better legs, better hands, and poibly a better head...or at the very least a better way to mount and move the G1 head. It is only in the drawing stage at the moment.
When I have the first (mine :p ) completed I need to decide, do I cast more to sell?

Would anyone be interested if this were available?
If so what would be a price point people would consider?

Depends on what it is...... do you have any prototype pics?

    hard to judge a hypothetical....

Depending on the detail... i'd pay maybe 30-50 I guess. OF course, that is picturing what I have in mind.

If I was doing it, i'd make a waist that was movable so you could simulate walking or battle positions.

Obviously, hands. Nothing says bad ass like a toy that can throw the figure.

The head... maybe more Heavy Metal War visor look. that would look sweet

lol, but of course, if you made a kit that did all that? i'd probably pay what you ask.

100 bucks? Aerial Team Appendage Add-On Kit - Transformers Accessories Accessories at BigBadToyStore

    Maybe for two

This thread is interesting. An upgrade for a G1 Devastator. Hmmm.... sounds like a good idea. It all depends on the execution.

I would be interested depending on price and quality of plastic.

Honestly, price will depend on how much it costs to produce the kit (and maybe a slight mark-up though I'd suggest against that because then it would be profit and would technically be trademark infringement and I'd hate for you to get sued by a company you love). But I would encourage you to at least make it for yourself and show it off cause I would love to see it.

Exactly what I had in mind.
I was figuring I could price it between $30 and $50. depending on if I am going to add any ratchet joints in. If I just stick to swivel type joints I can keep the price down.
I would probably offer it on frames, or assembled..and maybe painted.
I just started seriously looking at doing this. So I'm excited about it.
I'll be working on the prototype this weekend and next week.
At the very least I will be doing this for myself...so I'll have some pics up by the end of next week.

Ya I'm not terribly interested in making money on this...just feel there is a void that needs to be filled with this figure. Devastator is the first and best of hasbro's combiners. It should be given the love it deserves.
