... a character that never had any super mode/power up version of himself? I was looking at my Protector tonight and wondered what could be done to toys like Henkei Grimlock or Ironhide (or Hound or Lambor, you get the idea)... Give them an upgrade kit to give them a super mode... Not necessarily a trailer, could be something totally different...
I have no doubt that it could be done and could work well. The real question is how much of a market would there be for these kind of upgrades. These super modes would be cool but dont have a place in the canon. That said nor does stuff like frenzy-rumbles extinction and thats awesome.
^ You know you wanna pose that question to Venksta/Renderform since they're working on an upgrade kit for TFU Darkwind.
I thought I did a pretty good job trying to make Extinction's backstory canon. (Shout out to F_R) Anyway, I see where you are going with this, and I'm racking my brain. You are making me think though that Hound may be one of the most under used characters from G1! *new thread to follow* Damn, yeah can't think of any add ons. Maybe some add on battle stations ala M.A.S.K like a gas station for Ironhide, or triage for Ratchet, or a tuner garage for Sunstreaker and Sideswipe that gives them upgrade armor maybe???
brr-icy is a jerk! Now I gotta hunt these down... which I'm sure won't be cheap. My wallet just called you and your pic a rapist.
Huffer never had a Powered-Up version, and his PCC self works just fine. I would like to see more armor and whatnot, personally.
the tab on the back of dreadwing has to go in between the crotch and jet of darkwing, getting it to set in the middle is the only tricky part, the wings help a bit as well, mine hold nice and tight, if you need better pics of the undercarriage i can take them sometime pretty sure there are pics in radicons of that actually, solscud007 made a set of them with the casted head for dreadwind, i have another head for dreadwind and looking for another darkwing and jetfire to make a set for my own collection
It could be done, that goes without saying. But as was stated earlier, it doesn't matter if there's no interest in the product. You can make an armor add-on for Hound all you want, but there's no real reason for anyone to get it. There needs to be interest. Just look at the two that have been made: Ultra Magnus - left by Hasbro to be a white Prime redeco. And naturally we all know Ultra Magnus was never depicted as such in the G1 cartoon. Hell, he was never depicted as such in any media until that Dreamwave issue. So of course while we all know Magnus is and always was a white redeco of Optimus Prime, that wasn't what we saw in the cartoon. FansProject gave us what we saw in the cartoon. Rodimus Prime - again pretty simple. Hasbro gave us a great toy, but it was Hot Rod. We didn't have a "Classics" Rodimus Prime, FansProject gave us one. A bunch of other "Third Party" companies make add-ons for other figures and they get ignored because there isn't such a demanding need for those gaps in the collection to be filled.
Exactly my point. Things that are not official canon will have less interest not matter how cool they are.
