aside from some kibble, they are essentially the same height and they look very similar to me. my question is can ROTF Lockdown work as a temporary place-holder until i can get the animated version? wanted to know everyones personal opinions on this guy cause personally i think he's terrific.
Good god, no. He's a good figure, but he has no place in an animated lineup. Get the Animated figure.
cool cool. i agree. like i said just wanted opinions from fellow TF fans lol. idk where i could fit him into the collection though. he seems to look fairly cool with ROTF Bludgeon i think lol
Thanks to IDW's Drift series, I stick him with my classics. He fits in nicely even with the different aesthetic, because of the nature of the character as a mod-obsessed bounty hunter.
Do what you want to do. I'll be getting Warpath for my Animated collection only, as the Animated version was never made. I have Animated BA in my Beast Wars collection, since my brother's brats destroyed the BW version. ROTF Lockdown can work if details dont bother you. Once you find the Animated version, just place the movie version at another location. Or as I did by having movie Lockdown in vehicle mode by the Animated's robot mode.
Get both. The ROTF Lockdown is an awesome toy. However, as I was watching the Animated show with my girlfriend, I asked her who she thought was creepier, ROTF Lockdown, or the Lockdown on the screen. She told me the screen. Two days later I bought TFA Lockdown. And yeah, it's a pretty damn good figure. But I still really do like my ROTF lockdown as well.
so iv'e decided guys that im going to use him as a pseudo-classics Lockdown. im standing him with Drift and Bludgeon lol
Anything can be a stand in if it's just a placeholder. Even a can of soda. Run to toysrus.com, they had Animated Lockdown for $2.98. Hopefully they're still in stock.
While were on the subject. Reveal the Shield Lugnut would also fit in with your classics. Also hunt for the decepticons mindwipe is worth tracking down as a ninja to join your mercenary ranks. There is so much I find better on the rotf lockdown. I think there are four joints between the head and neck, the hook has more character, while the legs just have more freedom to move about in general. The animated one has sturdier transformation though. There is a lot less to worry about poping off in the process. It was really fun transformation to learn. Edit: It was retooled into axor. So classics fans. That's probably the only axor were going to get.
I think so, here are some pics of the side by side. http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-images/toys/images/158999-1/040.JPG http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-images/toys/images/158927-1/016.JPG http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-images/toys/images/158996-1/039.JPG Aside from the detailing, they look like each other.
ROTF Lockdown would work well with a movie collection or a Transformers Prime collection when those toys come out. Debatable as to how well he works in a Classics collection but that's three options for the toy so he well worth holding on to. Aesthetics are bit off for an Animated collection even though there are lots of design features are shared with each figure. My suggestion is just to go with both figures if you can get them for a reasonable price. Use ROTF Lockdown with movie, Prime or Classics figures and then the Animated version with your Animated figures.
