Hello! I joined here several days ago, and am thinking about making a custom.

Now, a few facts about me:

This would be my first custom. 2nd of all, I'm a teenager (A very mature one, but still one), and my funds are limited (Like, $0.00). My mom is going to pay for all the paint, tools, etc. And my grandpa is gonna help me work on it, letting me borrow his tools, and helping me use them.

Now, what I have to work with is:

Armada Deluxe Optimus Prime (And his mini-con, Over-Run)
Cybertron Scout Clocker (And his Cyber-Key)
    Movie Voyager Blackout
    and Crossovers Boba Fett

I know it's not a lot, but it's what I'll spare from my collection, (I have 2 Clockers, I don't really like/use Blackout and Fett, and I have Leader Class Prime from Armada so...)

Now, let's say that paint selection for this is unlimited, who do you suggest I make from these guys? I had thought about Springer, but I wanted to know what you guys thought. I also really like combiners, and thought about doing a two-person/one-person+add-on kind of thing.

    Thoughts?

    EDIT:
    Add onto the list:
    Crossovers Anakin to Jedi Starfighter
Movie Deluxe Scorponok (Needs a decent idea)
Movie Deluxe Brawl (Needs a fairly okay idea)
Energon Ultra Landquake (Needs a VERY GOOD idea)

I vote for Armada Deluxe Optimus Prime.
Like maybe turn him into a badass Ultramagnus.

You would need to get a head somewhere, but Bendy Prime makes for a pretty good "Classics" Gears or Swerve.

Both of those sound interesting. Take Brawl and Landquake off the list, bust completely add Scorponk, and also add Classics Megatron and Armada Sideways.

I'm also thinking of doing a team of guys, and am interested in kitbashing them using these parts.

I have decided to repaint Megs, but not into his G1 form, but into a kind of Classics Megazarak.

Hmm.... You could repaint Movie Scorponok into his G1 colors.

And you could repaint Deluxe Brawl into ROTF Legends Tankor colors.

I'm assuming with a really dark green and purple, so that it wouldn't be an eyesore..that might be cool. And Tankor, would definatly be a nice change from the drab green.

So Currently my repaint/retool list is:

    Classics Megatron = Classics(Of a Botcon) Megazarak
    Movie Scorponok = G1 Scorponok
Movie Brawl = Beast Machines/ROTF Legends Tankor
Armada Little Prime = Ultra Magnus/Nemisis Prime

And one that had come to mind:
Armada Overload = Timelines Sentinel Maximus

    Oh, and you could repaint....

    Cybertron Clocker into Lightspeed
Movie Blackout into ROTF Legends Spinister colors

Also, since there is already a Nemesis Bendy and Ultra Magnus Bendy, you could try to make a Classics Huffer. Though it'll require a new head and glue....

But hey, if you got a spare Energon Rodimus head around......

I'm looking at your avatar and wanting to see you make a Powered Convoy from that deluxe Bendy Prime :)

You've got a LOT of possibilities with those figures. I'd recommend searching each of those figures out and seeing what others have done with them to get some inspiration

Keep us posted on your progress :thumb

If you want something that would be slightly challenging, but would teach you alot, theres a tutorial on here about making the TFTM Blackout better that I think would be a great project for a newer customizer.

Okay, one thing i think you might wanna know: Get whichever one of those figures you hate the most (like, one you wouldn't mind losing), and practice on that. Seriously. It'll save you a lot of work in the long run. An old SWTF would be perfect, since no one likes them anyways. ;)

Also, ever considered just making your own character? I'd love to see what Clocker would look like with Overrun on the back of his car mode (like, remove the original crazy gun first).

Um, I know your funds are a bit limited, but doing the tutorial that WhiskeyTango mentioned, and then adding a head from TFTM Swindle (the red car drone guy) would make a great Shockwave with some purple paint. Search up AutobotX23's thread to see the finished product.

Bendy Prime would work for Gears, heck, even Small Foot as WhiteMocha proved in his thread, though the head change would be necessary.

And don't worry about being a teenager, i'm 15 and aside from a lack of patience, nothing to worry about. :)

EDIT: Perhaps SQ7 could do with some help eradicating the last of those Tuner Mudflaps, if you know what i mean.

These are all such great ideas. I am actually planning on using Over-Run as Megazarak's Micromaster partner, Caliburn. But I might change my mind.

I would recommend checking out my tutorial on making the Tail Mod for Blackout. It is in the Tutorials and How-To's. Let me know if you use it and how it goes.

Well, my work on repainting Megatron has started. I'll be posting a WIP thread in customs later today after I have a complete paint app or two on it.
