Would it be a bad idea to show pictures here of something I want to use for the BotCon fanart contest? Edit: Adding these as sort of a preview: Edit 2: Removed them again because I now have pics up of the prototype finished version.
I did last year; I put some previews up, and a work-in-progress thread. And I won. So I wouldn't worry about it.
Personally, I'm against showing WIP's of anything contest-entry or not. I feel like the way to show off your work is to show it off in full. However, I'm not saying that people who show off WIP's are bad or incorrect. It's just my stance I try to stick to... but feel free to post it
That's why I do it; being so close to what you're doing often leads to you missing things other people might well spot.
good point about WIP's next time I do some fun work I'll post it up for crits midway through. Can't hurt. Also, I locked this thread for disagreeing with me! muwaha
I'm not talking about WIP. Admittedly, once I take pics it will be of the first version, which will probably come along as a spare in case I need it, it won't be the actually used version otherwise. No pics yet, it's still in assembly.
I guess I can show something that could be considered a preview if I make it small enough. I'll edit the first post.
Wouldn't punch them out, that doesn't do the edges of the parts any good. Cutting is better. That aside though, the answer is yes. One that can transform in fact.
PLEASE say you'll release it after the contest. I love papercraft TFs, and this looks like a good one! Very complex.
I haven't decided yet. I'm very much not looking forward to putting together instructions for this thing. Good pictures of the building steps are hard; because of the transformation some parts go into eachother and there's no clear part after part order to it. If I release it it'll be at cut & Paste Sci-Fi (link in sig), but I may just keep this one for myself.
