Hey all I just finished BioShock 2. Both games were great. Do you think it would be plausable as a movie or a bad idea. Let me know your thoughts on the subject. who should be in. Should they avoid any first person view. What would work what wouldnt?

No. Bioshock(s) is a really good game, but a movie is a few steps up and sideways of a game.

no as people would complain its too different to the games. If you like the story just play the games as you know any adaptation will have parts missing or changed.

The imagery and plot are lush enough to make for a decent movie, but I think at the end of the day its not worth it, as it already has a great cinematic feel as a game, and video game movies by and large are awful.

I don't think it would work. While I think Rapture would translate great into a movie, especially after seeing Avatar, the story isn't there to make for an interesting movie.

To be honest while playing bioshock(1st one) I feel it be better as a movie than a game.

Considering a film studio has already bought the rights to it, I'm guessing it would work as a movie.

Yeah, because film studios have a solid history of great judgment when it comes to making video games into movies.

You committed highway robbery on what I was bout to say, lol :)

Totally speaking personally, but I barely think BS barely makes a great game, so much less a great movie. But you never know... atmosphere-wise it does lend itself into a unique experience....as a movie.

I'd say it has a pretty good chance, yes they would have to change things(like removing tasks that aren't essential to the story like saving the forest & helping the insane artist) but if given to someone competent then it may be the first great Video Game adaptation.

Personally, I don't think you could "do" the atmosphere in movie form. You could render the movie with top of the line technology, make it look like you're really there in Rapture, but you couldn't actually "Feel" Rapture in a movie. Bioshock was most certainly an "atmosphere" game, and you couldn't recreate that experience in a non-interactive medium.

And a bucha other two-dollar words.

Totally agree 90% games won't work as movies and of the 10% that might 99% of those shouldn't be tried
