i realise new games are needed but would anybody else like to see more n64 games ( we have already had mario 64 , diddy kong racing) on the ds, i realise perfect dark and conkers would be hard to do cos there rare property but some games like donkey kong 64 and other would be great to see, the other thing is that cos most of the games were built for 4 player multiplayer the multiplayer wouldn't need redoing and could just be played over wifi

what do people think? any suggestions? i would love them to release ocarina of time

I'm tempted to get a DS just so I can play N64 ports. My N64 emulator at home gets more play on my PC than my actual PC games.

Doesn't Diddy Kong Racing for the DS have the Rare logo on it?

I'd rather they keep ports on the Virtual Console. The VC Channel needs more 64 ports, and they end up costing less through Wii points then they do through the DS (example beeing Mario 64, which still retails for 30 dollars).

Rare is still allowed to develop for portable markets since Microsoft has no handheld system, but their franchise characters Conker and Banjo are no longer in the game. This agreement is also how we got the GBA ports of the Donkey Kong Country series even after Rare's purchase.

There are dozens of N64 and PSX games that need to be ported to the Ds
    Zelda
    Metal Gear
    Super Smash Bros
    Conker's
    etc

I'd love to see Mischief Makers on the DS but that's my long-shot cult favorite that I want to play again without dealing with my old N64's worn out control sticks. More notable games, Tetrisphere would be fun with the touch screen to rotate the game field, any Zelda game or Smash Bros of course, and I'd love to see Paper Mario back on DS, I only got to play it a few times.

Must have read your mind, because that was the first game to pop into my head. Loved that game, though the damn dumptruck was a bitch to use. Some new controls, a few extra levels, this could be a great addition to the DS.

Not the DS. Playing Mario 64 showed me how much a pain in the butt it can be to not have the joystick. Really, really annoying to try to turn around fast (a necessity in Mario 64). Though I'd love to see most 64 games get to the VC. For a system that sold so "poorly," the 64 I am just now realizing had a ton of absolutely amazing games.

    QFT.

Old games can be culled from bargain bins and ebay easily. N64 didn't even have that many great games worth revisiting. Why port Smash Bros when it might take just as long to make a new Smash Bros DS? NEW GAMES PLZ.

i have never understood why there has never been a portable smash bros, i realise theres less buttons but i think theres still just about enough for it to work, i remember when pics of the advance came out everyone was sure there was gonna be a smash bros but it came and gone and it appears the ds may to without a smash bros game

Even crazier, a few days ago I was thinking about N64 games they should do on DS and Blast Corps was the first game I thought of, then this thread popped up. That really was a fun and original game.

As far as more ports to DS there are games I wish they would do. When they had Mario 64 as a launch title part of me wondered if we would get Zelda OOT.

I love that Nintendo usually does a good job of getting new material for their handhelds but at the same time have always looked at them as GB Color=portable NES, GBA=portable SNES and the DS as the portable N64 with a twist. I think the last DS game I bought was Brain Academy, I should really pick up the Castlevanias though.
