...into one robot because they're obsolete?

Soundwave - Cassette tapes - done being manufactured, obsolete, we're done with CDs and into the IPod generation.
Younger generations will be asking, "What are Ravage and Rumble?"

Reflector - it's digital photography now, not analog.

Personally, I'd like to thing of Soundwave as a digital recording camera and his tapes as camera batteries. Both are rectangular.

SOundwave can always have drones, and he doesn't need to be a boombox.

I see no reason Refector couldn't be a digital SLR camera.

Soundwave's already been re-issued three times and I have 2 of three of the reissues and I would for sure buy a Reflector reissue.

why combine them? reflector could be a digital camera, also there are some digital cameras that look like the analogue ones anyways

they still make microcassette recorders, use the ahm design

A digital camera with a circular window?

A pic of a recent model please.

If digicams in movie mode record both picture and sound, why do we need both a Reflector and a Soundwave?

Still, I thought it'd be cool to have a Reflector with a circle window and Soundwave's cassette holder frame was now just a digital camera window.

Soundwave: He already done perfectly, Music Label Soundwave! PE is on to something with making Frenzy and Rumble weapons.

i've been waiting for a reissue reflector forever, come on takara! both he and soundwave would make awesome mp's as well.

also if takara ever makes these two into mp's i hope they ignore those people who want them to be more modern electronic devices. mp's are detailed reincarnations of their g1 selves. i don't want a mp3 soundwave or a digital fancy-ass camera reflector. make a boombox soundwave with cassettes and an old-school camera reflector or don't make them at all.

I'd eat up almost any G1 reissues at this point. Soundwave, Reflector, give me anything and I'll be good. Other than the Insecticons. Or Perceptor.

Soundwave already received a beyond decent updated homage toy in the form of the Takara MP3 Player a few years ago.

    Jumpstarters?

Just kidding. At this rate, I'd love nothing more than for Hasbro to rerelease the Scramble City combiner giftsets. And G2 repaints including those that were not released.

If they were $10 each, I would seriously consider it.

But that packaging... it's too tempting. And besides, I'm willing to shell out 9 extra bucks to ensure my toys haven't been shoved into other people or whatever.

    "Obsolete"? Hardly.
1: Soundwave is a Microcassette Recorder, which are still being used today and are still on the market just about anywhere.

    2: I want this-

Umm... DSLR Cameras. No professional photographer uses a dinky little digital camera.

In light(!) of the new SS Grappel, a new Reflector clearly needs to be dubbed Solar Reflector, no?...:p
