i was gonna get him but i got the last animated shockwave. i also told one of the store clerks that the universe hot shot mold is something that is rarely bought due to cheap plastic feel and of being prone to break.
Well, I dunno about you, but there's always Captain Immobile. I'm referring to Cloudraker on the left in this photo, part of the Ransack team. Not only can he pretty much not move a damn thing in robot mode, but he falls apart if you blink at him, he's incredibly unbalanced, and he has A PROPELLER FOR A HAT! I actually don't mind him. Though yes, his plastic feels rather thin and cheap. He feels a bit like a bad knockoff. Though if anything warms the shelves more than him at my local Fred Meyer, it's Universe Dinobot. The poor schmuck.
I'm surprised no one is mentioning that GODAWFUL first few series of Pretenders such as Landmine, where the robot inside was a skinny skeleton of a bot whose transformation consisted of folding his legs over his head and pretending he was then a cool vehicle.
actually, I kind of felt the same way, but after a while, (painting, unscrewing unnecessary kibble, etc.) I found to become very fond of him. He looks like a piece of crap, and his "transformation" gig is weak, but after painting him with metallic colors, he ain't that bad
g2 europe power masters (not powermasters) ironhide, staxx, meanstreak, and bulletbike, they look like the worst dollar store kos, firecons come in second, newer figures: movie megatrons
I'd have to go with Energon Slugslinger, based on the fact that absolutely nothing on that toy pegs in securely in robot, vehicle or hyper mode. A real shame, because the aesthetic is great, it's just incredibly poor engineering.
I can't recall the name, but there's that Micromaster right, some crappy train that barely transforms. Yeah, he sucks, badly.
Action Masters made me leave the TF franchise. I looked at both G2 and Beast Wars, and I was not impressed. In the end, it was Car Robots that brought me back to TF, but I left upon seeing the Armada toys. I eventually returned to TF when Alternators came out. So, in short, the worst TF toy ever is any of the Action Masters.
Pretenders, Armada/ Energon Autobots (the Decepticons in Energon where awsome), some of the movie figures
Beast Wars Optimus Minor. Utter garbage in both modes. Closely followed by Beast Machines Deluxe Cheetor. Even Supreme Cheetor is easier to stand than he is. Doesn't hold his tail/whip at all well in robot mode either. ...Not to mention that a stunning oversight in design means that it's possible to leave his tail/whip plugged and folded round in when he's in robot mode, giving him the appearance of having a colossal stiffy.
There weren't any that caused me to leave the hobby, although when I was in my teens I gave up after the headmasters. Fortress Maximus with a head that transforms into a head that transforms... into... another... head. Yeah, that was enough for me. I'd give my left nut for a mint one now though. Go figure. I would have to say the worst TF ever made was the Jumpstarter. I give those out free to people that annoy me when I sell TFs.
