I'm sure it's not the single worst movie of all time, but I can't let this thread go by without mentioning Moonraker.
Not a movie person (mind you, I'm very picky about what I watch and I have very few movie DVDs), but after being dragged to see countless piles of dreck that pass as movies at my relatives, here's a few that are deemed worst/godawful IMO: any movie with Van Damme or Seagal, including Street Fighter Ratatouille (aka Crappatouille) Pirates of the Carribean 2 Babel World Trade Center Star Trek V: The Final Frontier The Day After Tomorrow Titanic Robocop 3
Any direct-to-DVD movie in the last, oh, five years with the word "Shark" in the title. Check out Shark Attack 3: Megaladon for proof. Make sure it's not the TV version. It honestly has one of the BEST pick-up lines ever. Mostly because it worked.
some of the movies i thought were bad: Ang Lee's The Hulk The newer star wars movies ( I did like Revenge of the Sith ) Spiderman 3.(could've been better..more screen time for Venom if you ask me ) Terminator 3. those SciFi channel movies.
These are all movies I've rated the dreaded 1 star on Netflix: Are You Scared (2005) Best Men (1997) The Covenant (2006) Eyes Wide Shut (1999) Fear Dot Com (2002) Flight of Fury (2006) Haunted Highway (2006) The Hidden (1987) Penny Dreadful (2006) Perfume: The Story of a Murderer (2006) The Return (2006) See No Evil (2006) Southland Tales (2006) Vanilla Sky (2001) Worth Winning (1989) If you want commentary on why I think these suck, you'll have to wait for a later reply because I'm going to bed. In the meantime, suffice it to say, all these movies suck for very legitimate reasons and not just because I thought they sucked.
Under Siege is great despite Segal. Where else can I see Tommy Lee Jones, Gary Busey, decent action AND Erika Eleniak's tits all in the same place?
I like these. Two of the Best superhero movies up until Batman Dark night. Also the state of the country, the effects at that time to make it happen and iconic actor who is known for superman. There was one about Luke Wilson going to the future and the world was trashed and dumb. Never going to get those hours of my life back. It was on cable and I should have just walked away.
I wondered what her name was. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to google images. And I think Under Siege represents the single best Segal film ever.
Worst movie ever made is called Ancient Warriors. It is so bad it's painful to watch. I know bad movies, and it is the worst ever made.
I've gotta disagree on Perfume, I thought it was fantastic. I thought Seed was by far one of the worst movies of the decade, mostly because the filmmaker engaged in some fairly disgusting bullshit to justify the use of shock-footage of actual animal death. That and he completely failed to understand -why- he was doing anything, only that it was all in his horror movie handbook.
Highlander 2 Captain Cronos: Vampire Hunter Reign in Darkness Training Day These are the four worst movies I've seen in my life.
I agree with many of those listed here (including the horrible Perfume), but there are different ways to evaluate badness. Do you consider DTV and Roger Corman/Ed Wood, cheap-o movies that are made for crap and aren't really expected to be good as bad, or do they get a pass since they aren't supposed to be good? Or should you evaluate bad based upon instances when a movie doesn't live up to expectations, like "the Score"? Personally, I will go the route of a movie that everyone else seems to actually love, but that I think is one of the most terribly over-rated movies I've seen: Mystic River And the runner up, around these parts anyway, is Bay's Transformers. God that movie sucked. I actually, genuinely like some of the MST3K movies, and Ed Wood's stuff. . .
