A nearby store (kind of the equivalent of a Dollar Store, I guess) had a Metals Transform a few weeks ago so I've been keeping an eye on it for some time to see if more would surface. Yesterday, I found something hilarious. Okay, let's see here. Armada logo, G1 Decep symbol, a generic Optimus Prime, a Cybertron AND Armada Starscream art, a Gundam and of course the toys themselves: very generic Gundam knock-offs... could have fooled any real fan. but wait! It gets better. The back is pure, quality cardboard. Can't beat that. Looking closer at the card, it seems to have a screenshot of the PS2 Armada game, with what looks like Red Alert with the wing kit. I don't remember that particular area though. OK, here's the bots themselves. Very non-descript Gundam-y things with a shield or a gun. They actually have articulation in the arms. The paint is hand-dry brushed sloppily on a black mold and if you flex them a bit (the plastic is hilariously bad quality, as is the "bubble") it cracks and I get carcinogenic metallic paint all over my fingers. Oh, and the arms are completely hollow. The pack cost me about $4 but I figured it would be good for a laugh. I certainly got that, at least...
they still look better than those really crappy combiners that walgreens sold last winter for 3 for $9.99...the devastator, bruticus and defensor ones. my friend got these and two of the three broke upon putting all the bots together.
You're right. I was looking for that game when I saw the review in a local PC games magazine. It was way back in 2003 or 2004. It's called Gun Metal.
