I think we can all agree that having the Decepticons so easily taken out by humans was a bad decision. Sure, humanity’s not going to go down easily, but the fight against the Decepticons needed to be portrayed as much harder, in fact as being near-impossible without the assistance of the Autobots. The human fights in this film are comparable to the IDW comics where Spike Witwicky is able to take down Scrapper with construction materials – it looks cool that a human can kill an an evil robot, but it negates the need of a good robot to defend the human.

    FIRST FILM
Awesome. The humans couldn’t stand a chance at first, most of their heavy artillery didn’t do too much good (even Scorponok survived heavy fire). It was only with the help of the Autobots that they could prevail (it was Bumblebee who took down Brawl, not Lennox), and admittedly some quick thinking and guts.

Blackout (low shot by Lennox) – Lennox takes revenge for the friends he lost in the SOCCENT attack. Badass scene.

Megatron (Allspark in the Cube from Sam) – Though I wish Megatron had lived, it’s karmic justice that he gets fried by the one thing he lusted for, and by a lowly human that he tried to kill rather than by Optimus Prime.

    ROTF
Acceptable. Things have changed, NEST uses part-Cybertronian upgraded tech against Cybertronian invaders, it’s fairly reasonable the fight would be a little more balanced and even-sided now. But the Autobots are still needed, thankfully, as Lennox and Epps are able to sneak them out of custody and take them to Egypt.

Constructicons (airstrike) – although further individual combat for the Constructicons would have been nice to see (more fights like Rampage vs Bumblebee and Mixmaster vs Jetfire), a nice strong airstrike (stronger than the one on Scorponok) does a nice job of making them all scrapmetal.

EDIT: Should have mentioned Devastator getting shot down by that rail gun that came out of nowhere. Sorry about that.

    DOTM
Awful. Look at how many non-Autobot kills occurred in this film. They might as well have sent in a bunch of nuclear missiles into Chicago just to cut the runtime.

Starscream (boomstick in the eye from Sam) – I found it amusing, I still do. But this is also a very humiliating way for someone as iconic and formidable as Starscream to go out. This gets my vote.

Barricade and Deceptico. (shot down by NEST). What good are innumerable troops when they can be taken down easily?

Barricade was taken down by boomsticks [alongside his troops], small correction [the sniper shots in his eyes had a "sand in the eyes" effect, which distracted them long enough for the boomsticks].

Deceptico. = Decepticon Co. = Decepticon and Company. A little too witty perhaps.

But my point still stands. And a shot in the eyes could also permanently blind them, or put a slug into their brains and kill them.

Megatron. A human does not deserve to kill Megatron, especially a lowly worm like Sam.

Starscream, annoying to see him killed by a human that easily.

Devastator, definitely. Complete deus ex machina and incredibly anti-climactic.

I think Starscream was actually one of the best scenes where a transformer died to a human.

Starscream. Bayformer fanboys can argue that it was faithful to his G1 counterpart, but in the end Starscream went out like a bitch.

There's actually a need to ask this question? Starscream had the worst death hands down. He was killed by SAM, of all people and he went out like such a little bitch.

If I had to choose one, I'm torn between Devastator or Starscream. Part of me thinks Starscream's death was fitting and perfect, but another part of me wishes that an Autobot - even if it was Bumblebee - helped take him down. I at least argue that the "Barricade & Co." and "Starscream" kills were aided with Cybertronian weapons. The others (save for Megatron) were just pounded by the military.

And I'm fine with human kills. I'm fine with military kills. It's just that I like balance in the kills - much like many other aspects of the films. There's good Autobot kills, good human kills, good military kills, good teamwork kills and (very few) good Decepticon kills. I just think some of the above mentioned human/military kills could've used a little bit more Autobot aid. ;)  (And especially more kills for the Decepticons).

What about a human holding the most mystical, powerful, life-giving and life-taking Cybertonian artifact? A mouse might not be a match for a full-grown man, but if that mouse (somehow) steps on the trigger of a rifle and shoots that full-grown man through the head...

The Constructicon Airstrike. Sure, it was ok, but it was pretty much a deus ex machina and we didn't even get to see the robots fly apart and die. Just the actual explosions. As cool as they looked in the background, robots dying look cooler.

I really don't get all the hate for Starscream's death. It was his fault entirely. He was all cocky, wasting time, taunting and torturing Sam, even when Sam had weapons from his planet. (Which also justifies the effectiveness 100%. If there's an alien robot super genius inventor weapons specialist and he hands you something, it WILL work.) Starscream left himself wide open. It's not that he was weak.

Sam could have done that to OPTIMUS if the big guy behaved like Starscream did back there. (Granted, he never would.)
