I feel like someone else tried to go for a record last year. However, no 1500 is not even close to a record.

It should be value or rarity instead of quantity. I'd rather have one sealed Joustra than 1,000 Bot Shots.

Really though, what is the point in a collection that unreasonably massive? What do they get from it?
While it's not what I personally collect, I'm far more interested and impressed by those collections that feature rarities, prototypes and the like than just a mountain of recent mainline stuff.

I see some 3P stuff in there ... does it count, or do you put an asterisk in there, HA HA!

JK, impressive collection. Congrats to him. I have 3 or 4 big tubs of TF's and I feel like my collection is out of control, my collection is tiny compared to his.

Hahaha wow, that guy has zero focus in his collection, except for maybe ignoring G1 like it was the plague.

We're never really going to know for sure who has the "biggest" collection, I think, since as a community we're fairly large, fragmented, and we don't catalog exactly who has what for the most part. 1500 doesn't strike me as even close to some of the biggest collections I've seen, for example.

Like, it takes up a chunk of a loft when he lays it out on the floor. It might fit in an elevator, assuming that's all of it and he doesn't have more off camera or in storage. I've seen pictures on this site that take up multiple rooms.

I haven’t counted in a while, but I think I might have close to 1500 TFs, and my collection is TINY compared to many documented just on this site. That is not even close to a record.

That's pretty cool. I'm sure I could give him a run for his money though. I really need to do a collection count.

i am so not impressed by any of these collections. They werent curated with any desire other than to buy anything they saw on the shelves.

Yea, I know there are a TON of holes in my collection of things I want that don't even include rarities and "luxury items" that would be on my list of eventual wants, and I was thinking a while back that I may have to revise my statement of "more than 50 and less than 1,500" when people ask me how many figures I have. I would say I am right about where you are at 1,500-1,600, and don't consider my collection huge.

I appreciate what I do have, and respect the heavy hitters as well as those just starting to build. It is fun to see everyone's collection progress, and for me, this isn't a race.

I think around 7000 figures would be getting up there.

If I only look at Shmax.com, I can see that the number 1 collector is user Engledog who currently owns 10,960 Transformers, and that the top 30 collectors on there all own over 1,600 Transformers each.

One of them innit, he seems happy enough but here's another something highlighting how my collection is far, far too big - bigger than that and 80%+ of it sits in storage boxes as I think 'WTF am I even doing with my life?'.

There's 200 in the fucking dining room as I type this, roughly the same again on display upstairs and yeah.. I ain't swinging my dick around like a winner saying that.
