Anyone else bored at work today???I'm setting here selling identity theft insurance for citi customers called identity monitor by citi.I get to call citi members and try to sell them stuff they don't really need cause they are already covered but don't want to tell you that.

I hate working in sales and marketing if it was not for my family I would walk out of here right now.But I'll just set around here and wast thier time playing on the pc like they make me do to all the poor souls I have to call.

For those of you on here I've called I'm so sorry!

    WORK SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!

Think I'd rather do contruction for a bit.At least I would not feel let down and feel I had an honest job.

Don't places like that usually have a monitoring program set up so they can see and record everything you do on the computers at work? To my knowledge they usually use a system that takes screenshots every so often, saves it and marks the date and who was logged onto the computer at the time. So you might wanna be careful about what you do and say while you're at work, you'll be employed longer.

They can, but I know for a FACT that the system they use can monitor you live so they can see you as you're doing something. But......they usually are too busy with other stuff to do that unless you've given them a reason to "monitor" you at any given time

Woah, here that would be illegal! ;)
I mean monitoring in such a manner. It would be legal to monitor the traffic but you have to inform your employees about the fact that you are doing so and if it is not strictly said that private surfing is forbidden, it is always allowed.

Otherwise I would not be here all day at work :D

Not really. Companies can "justify" it by saying they're making sure you're not wasting company time/resources, doing private things while on company time, surfing to websites that are "HR inappropriate"....etc etc etc. Trust me. I know this BS game too well.

Actually....from my knowledge, most call centers that allow you to surf the net while at work has this type of software   Usually....call centers that prohibit the surfing of the interwebz......won't need it.

Those two go together, for sure.

I'd be careful about publicly naming the company though. Their monitoring software most certainly has keyword filters that go way over your buddy's head or directly to HR. Badmouthing your employer online is grounds for termination in most employee handbooks I've read.

...Too late now of course :lol

I've worked in 5 call centers and they've all had monitoring software of some kind. My current one (I'm on lunch right now) captures real time recording of everything I do while on the call and for 2 minutes after the call is ended.

I had a buddy that worked for a collections agency. His call center was set up exactly the same way. Only......their system could also hear what you're saying too.....even when you're not on a call.

I work in construction   While you guys got a roof over your heads in the office, I'm out in the elements getting my ass handed to me by nature.

Loads of fun, I enjoy it :)  If I didn't, I'd be in an office posting on tfw.

Why does this all of a sudden have an eerie semblance to "office space"......
