I've been out of the loop for a bit. So have we gotten any word on the next show yet? EDIT: [Can someone tell me, or link me a link I don't need create an account for?]
My only problem with the new show is that its gonna be less serious tone and targets the younger crowd.
"Less serious tone" could simply mean "no episodes like Thirst that scare the shittle out of your 4 year old", though.
As long as the new show has Cullen and Welker back as Prime and Megatron and also Jeffery Combs as Ratchet (and Ratchet from here on out), I'll be willing to give it a chance.
The highlights are in the quote boxes. http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-news-rumors/970620-interview-w-hasbro-studios-stephen-davis-tidbits-next-series.html#post10485621
I have to echo your concern, but at the same time I am going to remain optimistic about it. As long as we don't get something along the lines of Rescue Bots or Teen Titans Go! I'll probably be ok with whatever they finally reveal.
I see the word humor in the quote like 3 times....I echo your echo of concern. And I hope we get a TT like show but......I doubt it. We even had the guy who worked on TT do a TF show and TFA wasn't like TT at all.
I'm going to keep an open mind until I actually see the show, but if it's like Teen Titans (serious when it needed to be but pretty light and humorous overall) then I think it will be fine. I would like it to be a continuation of Prime with *SPOILERS* Optimus gone, Bumblebee leader of the Autobots, Megatron off somewhere doing god knows what, Starscream dead (I presume), and the Predacons doing their thing. I think the show should be about the Autobots trying to rebuild on Cybertron while keeping an uneasy truce with the Predacons and Decepticons, and have the main villain be like the Quintessons or some other third party just to mix things up.
Well, to be completely fair, a lot of what happened in Prime falls under the category of "Wait, can they do that in a kid's show???" And the idea is to steer somewhat away from that, which is understandable. They took plenty of risks in Prime and they don't feel like testing their luck.
I agree with this. Prime opened with the brutal murder of a main character, his resurrection as a zombie and murder again. I really enjoyed it but my wife and I talked about it and we don't know if we would consider Prime appropriate for anything under 12 years old.
I agree with this. I guess that's also why I like it so much. I enjoy that it's a bit darker and not just some kid fluff. I get enough kid fluff with three girls 10 & under in the house!
