    Hello
Im fixing to add more shelves in my room and my gf wants to see how many i have. So i was just wondering what do yall count as far as your collection counts? I mean do you count all your mini cons and robot heros and replicas in your collection? Just wondering because i have alot of other things that are not figures. Thanks for the help.

Rule #1: Anything that transforms counts.

Addendum A: Heamasters and Targetmasters only count as a single robot.
Addendum B: Combiners count each individual bot.
Addendum C: Broken bots don't count. (missing body parts)
Addendum D: Incomplete bots count as long as they can display well.

don't forget minicons and micromasters are to be counted for each individual, not by the sets.

And on your "A" up there , you can add Powermasters ,Actionmasters,Breast Force,Brainmasters, and Pretenders. to that little list.

Ditto. That includes -master partners, Minicon partners, and my few G1 decoys.

I follow these rules, as well, except for the Targetmaster rule. As the guns form independent alternate and robot modes and the robots they're partnered to dont suffer from being separated from them, I count them as well. Same way I count Minicons. The Headmaster rule I only have one exception, Armada Overload, who I'm inclined to count as two.

The size class guidelines from cybertron helped me. I count everthing scout class or higher. minicons in particular are often accesories for bigger transformers so it messes me up and I just don't want to count them just as I don't count the number of cyber keys they have.

I also try to get my figures complete to be satisfied with counting them.
<-even with this count I'm rather finicky you see.

I've always counted individual characters no matter if they transform or not. The few exceptions I make are for any of the Nebulonly challenged, Pretender Shells, City bot helpers and Action Master partners. I also count the combiner bot as well as the individuals that make him up.

This except armada overload is one for me but armada sideways is 3.

As long as it forms a full bot it gets a count. Except combiners, the individual parts get a count but not the combines mode.

    Thanx

You'll know your collection is big enough when you can't possibly count them anymore... Then it won't matter!

Yep, a really fair way to do it, even if it's included with another TF, especially if it could be easily lost. Anyway, I lost count of my TFs in the late 90's. Past a certain amount, it doesn't mean that much. Still, I'd know if something was missing. :D

Just a word of caution, but if you have ever sensed any negative vibe from your gf over your collection size, I would advise purposefully downplaying/underestimating the volume and give her something like an "educated guess". And if you've got hundreds, definitely downplay the volume.

You should ask yourself why she wants to know how many you have. It just seems a tad suspect to me. If she can't accept an educated guess, then you might have an issue on your hands.

I would never tell my wife exactly how many TFs I have. I know she'd question the sheer volume of it, but I would have a difficult time explaining to her the large surplus I keep in storage that I use for trades. Most of the stuff in storage I know I'm sitting on and have no plans to keep, but she really wouldn't understand the logic of that. Oh, collectors understand perfectly, but wives don't necessarily get it.

And I could give you three examples of fellow TF collectors I have known first-hand whom their significant other made them significantly downsize their collection when they saw the collection as "excessive".

You know it's funny. When I first saw this thread, I thought it was going to be about: "Wondering what do you count as Transformers shows?"

Anyway, I usually count all of my figures unless they do not exist in my room. Any figure that is a Transformer figure counts. Broken or not.

For example, Takara reissue C-310 Ginrai, what's the count, 3?
