Just got back from Wonderfestival. Oh good gawd, it happened to fall on the coldest day of the year. The weather itself was only around freezing, but there was this killer strong wind that just chilled you to the bone, if it didn't blow all your stuff away first.

Anyway, I got there at 6 AM, and there was already a line that contained twice as many people as last year's botcon, who had camped out. And let me tell you, Japanese people know how to camp. Chairs, thermal blankets, full on facial wraps - they had it all.

The bad news? My stupid camera, which has been acting up lately, decided to break completely when I tried to take pictures of the Takara-Tomy booth. So sorry that camera-phone pictures will have to do with my descriptions.

Basically, the Takara-Tomy display had the new Henkei (Classics) line up on display with a couple extras.
God, let me tell you, Henkei Prime is gorgeous. The apple red that they used coupled with his chrome grill is just gorgeous. Mirage is surprisingly nice, too.
Grimlock, on the otherhand, I'm pretty torn with. While he has some killer paint apps and variation in colour compared to the American release, the use of the gold and silver chrome really stands out - and not so much in a good way. Starscream's chrome launchers are similarly weird, tho not nearly as chrome-covered as Grimlock. Megatron is just nice to have in GeeWun colours, so I can forgive the chrome chest piece.

They had Encore Meister (Jazz) up on display, too. He's supporting tampoed decals, which is really, really nice. Also, his head is fixed! I'm probably going to have to break down and buy this one.
Also on display was the new Music Label Convoy in GeeWun colours and the Transcanning Optimus Prime, which is less like a Transformer and more like a glorified Microman toy with add-on armour. Pretty cool, tho, but definitely a lot smaller than I had thought he'd be - and at the Voyager price point, I'm not certain as to whether I'll buy him or not.

So for the time being, I'll throw up these small pics (viewable here: http://www.allspark.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=43235&st=0&gopid=866196&#entry866196). Later, (after I get some sleep), I'll try to do some photos of GeeWun coloured Arcee for those who might be interested in what she looks like.

Oh, and Jizai Toys didn't show up to the Winterfestival citing problems due to the weather (the winds were so high than some train lines got shut down). So suck that I didn't get to at least see the Wheelie and Powerglide garage kits in person.

    Yeah, nothing too exciting.
I'm still glad I preordered Classics Starscream and I have to say that Encore Jazz looks wicked. Gonna have to pick him up too.

Too bad about Jizaitoys not beeing able to make it. Wonder how he'll sell his garage kits now. Perhaps at another event or online?

Anyway, thanks for the pics Bête Noire!

PS: Here's another pic from the TF Image Board with some nice close-ups.

Oh and some of the pics at Fan2fan dobn't seem to be working..

Revoltech Shockwave, UM and Reissue Roadbuster..

I was there also, great report by the rest; I just thought I'd fill in some other stuff I saw.

There was an officially licensed fan creation of Revoltech Shockwave and Ultra Magnus. To use them, you need to disassemble a Revoltech Megatron.

I bought Shockwave, but he isn't coloured.

There is also a re-issue Roadbuster that is coming out.

I thought he was awesome actually; I would have bought him on the spot but he is only coming out next month.

Aoshima are making new Dorvack models, that's pretty unexpected.
It's worth noting at this point that Aoshima have a history of turning their plastic models into diecast toys. Expensive diecast toys.

It was a one-off product by fans made for the festival. It cost 7000 yen (plus at least 1400 for the megatron there).

I have one, you're welcome to PM me an offer if you want it. I might just list it on Ebay.

    Trans-scanning Prime: Cool, but passable.

Classics: Bleh. (except for Mirage/Rijie or whatever his name is, but that chrome... ick.)
